Jan 20, 2016 This is reddit user and Packer fan u/ClassicSanj, who was assaulted by group of Seahawks fan for wearing his Packer hat this weekend. He's now in ICU with brain injuries, looking at a hard recovery. (Info in comments.) imgur.com From reddit: "Saturday night my boyfriend was assaulted by a group of Seahawks fans for simply wearing his Packers Beanie. One of the men knocked him out so hard he hit his head on the concrete curb of the sidewalk. He has been in the ICU for 3 days now and is slowly improving. It will be a long and bumpy road to recovery and he may never be the Sam we once knew. He used to post on here quite frequently as u/ClassicSanj[2] . If anyone can help me figure out how to cross post this to some other subs from my phone on the crappy historical wifi that would be helpful. ... Any love from reddit would make him so happy. This happened in Portland Oregon on the night of Jan 16 if anyone has any info. We are in room 313 at Legacy Emanuel in Portland. If this gets any attention I will post updates and let y'all know how he's doing. Thanks for reading!"
Jan 20, 2016 Wow... People really like to use football as an excuse to assault random people. Haven't they learned after San Francisco.
Jan 20, 2016 It's not football, it's not Packers fans, and it's not Seahawks fans, it's just people taking this s--- way too seriously. My hatred for every Canadian hockey team aside from my own (the Edmonton Oilers) is deep, but it starts and stops on the ice.
Jan 20, 2016 Trash talking and anything like that is fine but it's always pretty ridiculous when it goes this far. There's probably a good chance alcohol was involved but that's no excuse. Also the packers and Seahawks weren't even playing each other and it doesn't even sound like they were watching a game when this happened. Hope they find out who did this.
Jan 20, 2016 Exactly, and it happened in Portland of all places. I wouldn't even call GB and the Hawks rivals like that for s--- to randomly pop off like that (if was SF and Seattle, maybe). Alcohol (and/or cocaine) has to be a factor 100%.
Jan 20, 2016 I live about 20 mins from Portland and actually work in Portland, there's Packer fans around here all the time. They're my most hated team actually but still they have a huge fan base, can't imagine how or why this would have been someone's reaction to just seeing a guy with a Packers beanie, curious to hear the full story if it ever comes out.
Jan 20, 2016 Naw not exactly, my family basically slowly moved out to this area starting with my oldest brother then my middle brother then finally my parents. After a few years I eventually decided to try it out here too lol.
Jan 20, 2016 i spend a lot of time in seattle, so i've been able to make more than a few trips down to portland man. beautiful city, the culture there is crazy too
Jan 21, 2016 I actually work with 2 chargers fans. Never met one in my life until they both started working where I work. Anyways I'm curious to hear the whole story. I believe there's more to the story than just a reddit posters side of it. I hate the seahawks more than anyother team atm but fighting at stadiums or anywhere for that matter over your favorite sports team is f---ing r-----ed. I'm all for friendly trash talking but every fan should know that line thats going to far.
