Feb 12, 2016 meh, "slavery" ended in 1865, but then u had the end of reconstruction, jim crow, kkk, then oppression of their voting rights, etc. until at least 1965. then, discriminatory housing and employment policies lasted in some cases until the 80s, and now, are being reinstated. so its a lot more complex than "slavery ended, racism done" etc i agree racism and homophobia are both insidious. idk if you can say definitively one is better than the other however. at least with racism, its a communal thing. your entire family is the same race of you. homophobia alienates you from everyone in ur community
