I feel like this observation is bs and you were just finding a reason to use the word percussion.

At the very least, nobody makes me more hyped up and energized than Young Thug. Summertime 06 is amazing, but Vince rarely has me feeling like I just took a couple 5 hour energys and drank a cup of coffee you know what I mean?

thug is clearly on top, and most other rappers, aside from the obvious exceptions, are trying to catch up. no one else is putting out music as consistently as him.

thug has gone from tha tour to b6 to ss1 to ss2 to im up to ss3, + 100 leaks

and even some of the obvious dudes at his level are struggling to maintain his level of consistency.

gates put out a great debut but mfh2 was lackluster

future had to literally stop putting out music because people could tell he was coasting.

Good try but no, people like to praise production when they hear "exotic" drums, at least from what I observed

See this is what I mean. Your entire last post revolves around the concept that more music= better musician which is true in Thug's case but that's not an objective standard like no rational rap fan goes around saying "wow ONLY 2 albums this year f---in trash lol"

Thug is only the clear cut winner when you judge other artists based off the aspects that Thug excels at, Thug has MORE good music than anyone else (except maybe Bones) but whether or not its better is a point of contention. And honestly I'm almost in agreement with you if someone asked me rn who I thought the best rapper rn was I'd probably say Young Thug, but it's not a clear cut easy choice, my next 4 picks would be just below, this gap of talent between thug and everyone else is nonexistent and y'all only disagree because Thug has so much music that you can sit there all day and do nothing but listen to Thug yall are like those early career eminem fans that talked about how some trailer park freestyle from '97 is better than anything coming out at the time it's just a s-----y POV that comes from stanning an artist that's objectively great.

how? thats literally not what my post implies at all. OBVIOUSLY im saying that Thug has maintained staggering consistency across literally double the output. which is 100% worthy of note.

this is all drivel. Thug is a better rapper becuase he has a better resume to support that statement than literall 99.9% of rappers alive. It's pretty simple.

Well f--- Doctor, you mean to say types of instruments that aren't regularly used are going to seem more interesting than instruments we regularly hear? What other earth-shattering conclusions have you drawn?
