Dec 16, 2015 We got a name, I think in a couple days it'll be re-published. I'll read your review again too, it'll be good to see it a few months later.
Dec 16, 2015 I honestly wouldn't rate B6 over a 8/10 but like I said, I haven't revisited it since SS1 dropped. I'll give it another listen, maybe I'm missing something. You know what I like about Thug, how haphazard, unorganized, yet finessed he can be. I know SS1 is the "messiest" of the bunch, but maybe that's why I love it. SS1 > B6 > SS2 for me.
Dec 16, 2015 So we really are renaming the site D12World? Ballsy @Mike Tyson B6 is overrated. You're delusional @Narsh
Dec 16, 2015 SS 1 feels like a playlist, but it actually really works for that album...I played the whole thing front to back this weekend when I was at this house we rented for my friend's bday, everyone seemed to be vibing with it in that regard. edit: I'd probably have SS 1 > SS 2 > B6
Dec 16, 2015 ive listened to 85% of ss1 for about half a year longer than most of u guys lol, might be why im not as big on it. and unlike b6, where repeat listens just strengthen certain aspects of the album (like the sequencing and understated production), im not even drawn back to ss1 too often b/c, like bc said, its relatively just a playlist
Dec 16, 2015 Terrible album. Very boring and the execution was poor, lacks any replay value They are trolling
Dec 16, 2015 Kendrick suffers from from being way too Lyrical on deep songs the same problem Talib Kweli, Jay Z, Canibus, Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Mos Def, Andre 3000, KRS-One, Jay Electronica suffer from like them he doesn't know how to and can't tone it down Not to make this an Eminem thread but i have to use him as the prime example because he is the most successful rapper ever on his deep songs he knows how to tone down the Lyricisim and make the focus of the song on song writing and emotion. Not sacrifice Lyricism but tone it down and let the focus be on emotion, message, melodies, passion, production With Kendrick and the other rappers who are too Lyrical when trying to make substance based songs. There is no point in focusing so much on word play, metaphors, multi's, similies, double entendres, rhyming when u making a deep song don't sacrifice lyricism completly of course not but make the focus on emotion. Emotion songs aren't supposed to be about how well u rhyming. Kendricvk is too complex Also Kendricks hooks are weak too i'm a fan of rappers who sing on hooks and sound well doing so but Kendricks attempts at singing or harmonizing are terrible sounds bad. HE needs to stop and just let featured singers who actually can sing do the hooks or have songs with no hooks or use sampled hooks
Dec 16, 2015 What the f--- are you talking about Kendrick not being emotional enough? Did you not listen to "u" or something?
Dec 16, 2015 Did i say he is not emotional? i said the problem he suffers from is being too Lyrical and too complex on his deep songs
Dec 16, 2015 Pitchfork is hardly the only website that's rated TPAB highly lol. If they're sucking his d-ck than pretty much everyone is.
Dec 16, 2015 why do you keep capitalizing lyrical Anyways, I'll just agree to disagree as I think Kendrick has the right amount of complexities but has enough restraint in them to make them easily understandable.
