Mar 30, 2022So around last august I started randomly urinating blood, was having pain in my bladder and urinating and the doctors kept diagnosing me with UTIs, bladder infections and just kept sending me home with antibiotics and it was a recurring thing for months. Then finally in early February of this year after months of struggling I was at work and passed what I thought looked weird. Like a tumor particle or something. (Weirdly and thankfully I took a pic.) So immediately called a urologist and I went to see them the next day. The doctor saw the pic and told me he wanted to schedule me for a scope examination a week later which happened to be Valentine’s Day of course. On Valentine’s Day he saw the tumor and told me I had bladder cancer. He told me he knew what the picture was when I showed him but he didn’t tell me til he got in there and saw for sure.
Cancer unfortunately runs super deep in my family. I lost my mom to cancer when I was 7 years old and lost 4 people in my family to it in the last 5 years. When I was under for my surgery last week I actually had a cousin pass from lung cancer during the same hour I was in surgery removing the tumor.
