    also found that your dude seems to walk around in circles constantly in some underground carparks lol. me and my mate both hatched an egg yesterday when sitting at a lure for 30 mins

    Don't go to clubs with metal detectors....sure it feels safe on the inside. But what about all those mother f---ers waiting outside with guns? They know you ain't got one.

    yo holy s--- you're gonna get like 3 rares in your first day, but the only problem is the app actually needs to be open for it to count your steps.

    bad news: pokemon go drains your battery quick, make sure to get the google maps app and download your city's map to your phones hard drive by going in to your settings in the google maps app. and if u got a portable phone charger, put that in your pocket.

    good news: pokemon go barely uses any data so you can have your app open all day without stressing about overages.

    constantly evolve your pokémon whether it seems redundant or not. stockpile a bunch of candies for rattata/pidgey/etc. and evolve em all at once with the lucky egg on. spiked me from 13 to 15 within like an hour.

    if you're going to go look for pokémon, go to a shopping mall, downtown area of a city, or basically anywhere that there is bound to be a lot of cellular data usage. the app responds to data usage, not app usage.

    stickied for all the new players. this s--- really works.

    one more tip for BRAND NEW PLAYERS

    if you JUST started the game and are down to spend a bit in the cash shop to make some quick progress, buy a lucky egg from the second you start the game, and after you choose your starter, maybe take a quick walk to get used to the mechanics, but try not to go overboard.

    go to a populated area, such as your university campus or downtown in your city. there should be multiple spots where pokestops (the blue land markers you may have noticed on your test walk) are very close to each other, close enough that you are in range of all 3 from one spot. these markers are hot spots for multiple lures. you'll know a poke stop has a lure on because it'll have pink flowers dancing around it.

    okay now, that you've found a spot, post up and activate your lucky egg and start catching some mons.

    every pokemon should be a brand new catch. for that you get 500xp. because your egg is on, that will net you 1000xp for every new pokemon you capture, and 200xp (normally 100xp) for every re-capture. in 30 minutes, you can easily net 30 pokemon. if 10 of those are new species, and 20 are repeats, thats 14k xp in the first 30 minutes of game play good to get you to level 6 in the first 30.

    now, evolving pokemon for the first time gives you 1k xp, and 500xp for repeats. with a lucky egg on at the end of the night, evolve everything you can as per @Bobo's strategy.

    if you follow this strategy, you should be level 12 the first day, and if you then follow bobo's strategy you will be level 20+ in 7 days.

    That's coz although you're running, you're really just running on the spot which means your avatar isn't going in any direction for distance at all.

    Also if you miss a Pokeball throw when you're trying to catch, you can retrieve it by touching it before it rolls away.

    One thing also is if you see a Pokemon on the screen click on it as quickly as possible even if it's outside of your purple radius. I was on the taxi and was moving pretty fast when a Charmander popped up on my screen. I clicked on that s--- asap even though it was outside of the radius and it worked!

    You get medals for hitting certain distances. Turn on power save mode, leave the app open in your pocket and it'll auto shut down your screen to preserve some battery.
    d--- didn't know downloading the maps would help like that. Combine that with battery save mode and you can run this s--- pretty efficiently.

    Another tip:

    Access your submenus faster by swiping from the Pokéball. Swiping the Pokéball left opens your caught Pokémon, swiping right opens your items, short swiping up opens the shop, long swiping up opens the Pokédex.

    When using incense you'll catch more every 60 seconds if walking every meters while if stationary you'll get a Pokemon every 5 minutes just a little tip

    Found out that you can basically choose your Eevee evolve by renaming them Pyro, Sparky, or Rainer.
