I don't understand your fixation with a super niche movement. I'd argue communism is a far more viable political philosophy than alt-right nationalism which is solely predicated on bigotry. There are zero communists in any elected seat of the government. The alt-r-----s have Steve Bannon in the Whitehouse.

Yah communism looks great on paper, see how it worked in practice in several countries all over the world. That's my point.

I think you're giving them too much credit, do you personally know enough about communism to know the implications of promoting it? These people have never lived through it or witnessed it in action, sure on paper it looks like a great philosophy and that's why they are promoting it. It's not the grand scheme of symbolism that you're making it out to be.

I'm not advocating communism. I'm trying to understand why you think it's an imminent threat and SJWs on Tumblr being dumb is worth concentrating on more than s--- like the current healthcare bill or travel ban or pretty much anything else. SJW bashing too often comes down to posting videos of dumb people on Youtube or posting articles written by stupid people on the internet. Who cares?

To be fair, I never said it was an imminent threat, I was using it as an example of how dumb SJWs usually are and relating it to my point about the Casey Affleck backlash, this wasn't mean to tie into our political state inherently.

You brought all of this up because I think it's okay to give Affleck an award without excusing his "alleged" s-----y actions. Nah I just know that these people are clueless just like they are about most things they get instantly offended by. Sure there are probably people smarter than that but I guarantee you a lot of them genuinely stand behind communism because they think it's a good idea and these are the people I've been talking about the whole time. I was never trying to make a huge statement on a whole political party, my sights were aimed at the stupidest of the SJWs and I think my statements were pretty accurate at describing that group.

Honestly I'm so done with the political s--- that I don't bother to waste much energy on it anymore, I was outraged by this because it ties into someone that I follow being blindly labeled certain things and it reminded me of other behaviors from those kinds of people that I dislike. Nothing that really bothers me all that much irl but something I felt like mentioning when the topic was brought up.

The communism thing really irks me because it hits close to home I guess, and it reveals something about the contradicting mindset a lot of these people have.

@Vahn werern't you just scolding me for relying on "pretentious" as a crutch - couldn't the same be said about your blanket use of "SJWs"? Feels dismissive and too blunt. Wait - do you live in Eastern Europe? or are from there

I happen to agree the point about Affleck though, FTR. He seems like a jerk, and maybe was a creep on that set, but I'm not sure why I follow its relevance to Manchester or the Oscar race. I forget the context but something I was listening to recently was discussing the phenom of punishment, then conviction. I guess what binds all this is people shouldn't be so reactive, overly emotional and ultimately shallow when debating topics... especially online. nuance gets lost so easily.
