    Basically this. And I was still not sure when tpab came out. Literally my first thought after my first listen was "g.d. this album is dense." So many musical ideas and soundscapes coming at you at once, it was hard for me to comprehend. But over time as I understood what he was doing musically I realized how amazing a feat the project is. I definitely appreciate it so much more now than I did when it first came out and thats my favorite project released by these 2.

    Dunno what it means to be a classic rap album in 2016. I'm sure there's some jazz nerds who can break down the inside baseball significance of Malinke's Dance. Doesn't make it love supreme or birth of cool.

    Music/culture is so disparate these days. Can't imagine anything approaching ready to dies iconography

    i don't think something has to pander to you and the rest of the lcd soundsystem fan club to be a classic. there's no way you can reframe the last five years of hip-hop to say that Pluto isn't a classic. you can counter that the people who buy joey badass records disagree, but outkast was booed at the source awards.

    If I'm being real I dunno if either would make my top ten active rappers at the moment. I like both of them a lot but both fan bases are proving how bad they are with this topic. TPAB and IYRT were great when I first listened but I don't find myself going back to them much.
