    I'm picking parts for my new build atm, so I'll update soon and show you guys the out come of that adventure.

    Alright, so I just bought all my parts for the new build, this is going to be a huge upgrade for me.

    Intel Core i5-7600K CPU 3.8Ghz 4 Core
    MSIZ170A TOMAHAWK AC Motherboard DDR4
    GeIL EVO POTENZA
    Intel 600p SSD 256GB
    PNY GeForce GTX 1080 8GB
    Thermaltake View 27 Cabinet
    Seasonic G Series G-550 Power supply

    And bought 3 custom Corsair AF120 LED Quiet TP - Red cooler, to p---- it a little cause I'm going with a red theme with this build.

    I'll post pics and a video when the build is complete in the weekend, hopefully

    First time going Intel tbh, couldn't wait for AMD to drop their Ryzen CPU, which I might gonna change it to, If Intel fails me haha

    Intel shouldn't disappoint I wouldnt use anything else and the first machine I built was an AMD

    My GTX1070 was done on the same order as my backup power supply (UPS) and the UPS is on back order. So if I posted a pic with my roommates 960 in it I know yall would call me out. f--- it I'll post one anyway (cables have since been cleaned up) but I'll post the very final pic once I install my 1070.

    Reason I'm using my roommates GPU is because none of the X99 mobos come with onboard graphics so there is literally no way to plug in a monitor without one.

    While I'm on the subject I might as well complain about two other things. This motherboard only has ONE USB 2.0 header. Now I am not talking about USB 2.0 ports that you plug your mouse or keyboard I to but the actual 9 pin header on the mobo. My Corsair power supply needs one. My Corsair liquid cooler needs one and the USB 2.0 ports on the front of my case needs one. Why the f--- would ASUS only include one on the board? So I had to purchase a $40 card to plug into the only header I have and split it into three. This hasn't arrived yet and as such I cannot change the colour of the lighting on the liquid cooler. When this splitter arrives all the colours will match the red fans and red RAM.

    The other issue with this mobo is the confusing way in which the mobo allocated CPU bus lanes to the PCI-E slots and m.2/u.2 Ports. I ended up having to install an m.2 card into the 5TH PCI-E expansion slot otherwise overclocking the CPU and changing the boot strap value etc made the m.2 drive unrecognizable in the 5th PCI-E slot. Nothing like this is covered in the manual for 28 lanes CPUs so it was all trial and error. I also installed a THUNDERBOLT EX 3 card and that specifically had to go into the 2nd PCI-E slot and was disabled by default in thw bios.

    Everything is working like a dream now though. When I get my 1070 and set this up at my desk I will post more pics, but for now:

    Lowered the voltage to the CPU and tweaked the overclocking a little now it sits at 4.4ghz and doesn't top 57 degrees celcius

    No i dont but I can by a side for my case with a perspex window - I've just never worried about matching lights and stuff
