Jul 27, 2015 LOL are you srs dude? he's COMICALLY bad... the rat speech, yelling at the gardner, yesterday's moment offering ray milk granted, its 85% the writing, but he is sooo obviously unable to adapt to nicpiz's stylized dialogue for the character
Jul 27, 2015 i honestly just chalked all the s-----y monologues to the writing, not him. i thought scenes like the one where his wife told him he cant have kids/talked about what adoption wouldve meant to someone like him as a kid, were great on his part. i thought he was great at the table with ray as well.
Jul 27, 2015 I disagree. It's a great character, but he's been hit or miss for me the entire season. If we're comparing him to the other 4 main stars, he's 3rd behind Farrell & McAdams. Ray has by far been the best character on the show. Spoiler Ray's relapse scene last night was great.
Jul 27, 2015 disagree, i feel like with the right actor, that staccato rhythm of speech would sound more natural. something about his approach to the material/character just doesnt quite work, imo. i will say i thought his scene with the kid last night "your heart is gold" was pretty well delivered

Jul 28, 2015 you honestly have to go back and marathon season 1 again to fully appreciate how much of a drop this season has suffered. episode 6 was great, but i go back to episode 4 of season 1, and during the last 6 or 7 minutes when mcconaughey was robbing the crack house with the bikers, i felt like i was actually there. season one was masterfully done. the s---t out during episode 4 of this season was great though. here's to hoping they can finish strong.

Aug 1, 2015 Just watched last week's ep, finally feel like we're getting somewhere—but, again, I feel like this should have been the halfway mark for the season. Only two eps left, but I'm starting to think there will be decent payoff.
