Aug 10, 2015 Hard to say. The album is amazing from start to finish, and it has a few standout tracks but there is no 'still dre' on it (looking at it commercially). But a few of them are fantastic to me so I will probably listen to them after a while
Aug 10, 2015 It's a great verse for sure, but not a great song. You'll never walk into a bar or club and hear Medicine Man, or anything from this album playing. But 10+ years from now you'll still hear Forgot About Dre, Next Episode, G Thang, etc. That's why his first two albums are classics and this one sure as h--- isn't.
Aug 10, 2015 Darkside/Gone All In a Days Work Its All On Me Deep Water Medicine Man Talking To My Diary
Aug 10, 2015 So you judge an album's quality by whether or not it will be played in bars or clubs? I know you think you're being edgy by taking the opposing view, but you're just exposing yourself as an idiot with awful taste. You haven't substantiated any of your claims beyond 'this doesn't sound like 2001 or the chronic' and 'this won't be played in 6 months from now'.
Aug 10, 2015 Why not just let yourself try and see if you like a song instead of thinking about how all the tracks will be perceived in different scenarios and contexts? Just to clarify... this album could only be good if it was played in a club?
Aug 10, 2015 Definitely not the case. That's just the kind of music Dre tends to make though. I consider MMLP a classic album for example and nothing from that album would get played in a club. A classic album just means it can still be listened to and enjoyed over a decade later. And I just don't see that at all with this Compton album.
Aug 10, 2015 If Jon Connor ends up becoming big I can see one shot one k--- still getting some play but probably diary, days work, talk about it and genocide.
Aug 10, 2015 What more is there to say? - The production is absolutely pathetic. - The features are god awful. Most of them are by no-name artists. - Dre's rapping on the album (the little bit that he actually did) was very lackluster and his voice was almost unrecognizable at times. - Dre and Snoop trading bars on this album, which is usually a sure thing, sounds absolutely cringeworthy. - There is literally not one good song from front to back on this album except for maybe Talking To My Diary. There isn't a single worthy song on the album. - After putting out timeless songs on his first two albums this one literally does not have ONE memorable or even noteworthy beat, lyric, or hook. I have nothing more to say about this pathetic excuse for an album. Dre was so scared to release Detox in fear of tarnishing his legacy? Well he definitely did so with this. WOAT album. I'm done.
Aug 10, 2015 How was the production 'absolutely pathetic'? Like, honestly, you think the production on Darkside/Gone is pathetic? Or All in a Day's Work? Or Talking to My Diary? or Loose Canons? Or Genocide? Just because it sounds different from his previous albums, it doesn't mean it's bad. A guest feature isn't awful just because it's by a lesser known artist. How were Anderson Paak's features bad? Or Kendrick's? Or Xzibit's? Yeah, Dre and Snoop were cringeworthy, but you're okay with Eminem's r--- line. please. Dre's voice is sometimes unrecognizable on this record, I agree. However, I don't think that qualifies as an argument to support your claim that it's one of the worst records in American history. I dunno why I'm even wasting my time with you, you think INAD is better than any song on this album.
Aug 11, 2015 Darkside/Gone, Deep Water and Talking To My Diary will get plays for sure in the future.
Aug 11, 2015 For The Love Of Money, All In A Day's Work, Medicine Man, Animals & Just Another Day because it has a top 20 Game verse
