Aug 12, 2015 Came here to post this same exact thing. 20-40 songs in 16 years? Tupac said Dre was lazy and had a horrible work ethic. Looks like he was right.
Aug 12, 2015 It was from a week ago, it should still be up If I have time when I get home I'll find it
Aug 12, 2015 but dont forget he was working a lot with othe artists em, 50, game ... and i think the most detox stuff is from 2007-2013
Aug 12, 2015 If my memory is right he said Dre took too long to release projects. Probably because Dre is a perfectionist. I don't recall Pac saying Dre was lazy or had horrible work ethics. Dr. Dre and Tupac are complete opposites. I remember someone saying Pac would record multiple songs in one sitting. That he worked extremely fast and whenever he was done laying his verses on one song he'd ask for the next beat. I think it was Snoop during an interview if i recall correctly. Taking time to perfectionate a record doesn't mean you are lazy. Dre is a producer for a reason, he knows what he wants his records to sound like and it can take time to perfectionate a single beat till you think everything is on point. Writing verses for a song is much easier than creating the beat and overseeing the entire production of the song making sure everything sounds right.
Aug 12, 2015 "Still taking my time to perfect the beat And I still got love for the streets, it's the D-R-E"
Aug 12, 2015 the 20-40 songs are deff 100% finished songs. Nearly everyone who has worked with him over the past 12 years has mentioned he has thousands of just unfinished beats without verses and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure Mel-Man said he got to take a look at Dre's massive vault of just unfinished songs and he said there were thousands. Just working on and off for 16 years is still a f--- ton of work.
Aug 12, 2015 This. I think he meant 20-40 finished songs that potentially could have made the album. So many artist claimed to have collaborated with him for Detox. Too Short said he had the best/favorite verse he ever recorded for a song he made with Dre for Detox and only got to hear it once.
Aug 12, 2015 In an interview, Pac said it took Dre 3 years (obviously exaggerating to a certain extent) to do a song. I like the fact that Dre is a perfectionist, however pac thought that the co-owner & main producer of Death Row would be the one to push projects out quickly to keep up with the competition on the east.
Aug 13, 2015 Dre's word is something I'd trust when he says he didn't like what was for Detox and wasn't very good. Not sure why anyone would want to hear half baked songs and throwaways. It would do more harm than good for him.
Aug 13, 2015 those 20-40 are probably just from the last few years. The INAD/Kush version of Detox. What i want to hear is that 06/07 version when he was making beats like Minority Report.
Aug 13, 2015 You're crazy if you don't think this guy is sitting on days worth of music he's recorded since accouncing Detox.
