Sep 15, 2015 Basically proving that general consensus =/= better rapper/artist. Drake and Thug basically ride on the same wave, except Thug maintains his tough image better.
Sep 15, 2015 if you think making hits automatically means you're "less of an artist" you can have fun jerking off to canibus records. you'd be hard pressed to argue that "pacifier" or "lifestyle" or "2 cups stuffed" or "danny glover" compromises itself to be popular.
Sep 15, 2015 Lol is this your way of taking me serious? Be decent to me fam. Never mentioned Canibus and it's really disappointing to see you shame me for simply disagreeing with you.
Sep 15, 2015 i'm not "shaming you for disagreeing with me" lil guy. i'm pointing out that you're flatly WRONG for thinking music being popular automatically compromises its artistic merit. and if you're saying that thug's music or career trajectory is similar to drake's, no, sorry, i'm not taking you seriously. thug is the kind of artist drake would steal from if he had the technical ability to do so.
Sep 15, 2015 Young Thug and Travis Scott have done great on their tour. Thug is impressive but I think that Travis Scott shows more potential in terms of being an iconic rapper. His latest album "Rodeo" is on just too hot to touch.
Sep 15, 2015 "relevant" "interesting" "get real" = transparent attempts to formulate a barbed, yet dismissive response. try again. im not saying you're "suckin thug off for saying he's not a commercial success, but will maintain a cult following" - im saying you have an invalid opinion on whats good or not, period. "attention i want" this is a forum kid, dont be so trite and sensitive all the time
Sep 15, 2015 I just said that he is popularizing elements of rap, which means he isn't as sincere in his artistic intentions to a degree. He is moreso in it for the money and fame you see?
