My preference is lyrical, but I don't mind playing some trap music.

    lmao

some people get too caught up in this "black and white" mentality. i see it everywhere, its a shame because both sub genres are f---ing awesome

like my boy @Charlie Strangelove pointed out, there can be a hybrid between both.. i mean, what would you guys classify THIS as:

seems to me like its neither trap or "lyrical rap" but both.

wtf is this? Dude is talkin bout smokin weed and chasing money. Since when is this even considered remotely lyrical?
    :camby:

also, I prefer lyrical but will listen to trap often when the mood strikes.

you're a f---ing idiot. the subject matter doesn't matter. it's all about how you execute the song. you can talk about smoking weed and chasing money if you present it in an interesting way.

First off, moron, subject matter is important and if you're going to be spittin about something as common & lowbrow as money, weed & b------s. Lyrically speaking, a child wrote this. Nothing about these lyrics (or that s-----y a--- flow, for that matter) are interesting nor do they make me think. Where's the clever wordplay? It's all very concise and straight forward. I smoke weed. I chase money. That isn't lyrical. That's just commonplace rapping.

Pfffft, "it's all about how you execute the song." You need to execute whoever made the g.d. song is what you need to execute.

lol no subject matter means absolutely nothing as long as its done well. you can rap about f---ing b------s day after day as long as its done well.

it sounds to me like you completely missed the point of the song. the beat gives the song emotion. the dude's delivery sounds genuine.

you sound like one of those "real hip hop" fa----s on big l youtube videos

I mean, we ARE talking about LYRICAL vs. TRAP. There isn't much wiggle room when it comes to the definition of either. That song was NOT lyrical.

    Man...did you make this? Stop being so g.d. defensive...it's a f---in song. A s-----y one at that.

there is plenty wiggle room. you're being ignorant in thinking that being a "lyrical rapper" is strictly limited to the subject matter. that's incorrect.
