I think one of the reasons tpab got this much acclaim (deserved it) was because of the execution of the jazz element,s s--- was brilliant

I think you're on to something, but is that going to stop me from loving TPAB? no. I still listen to Wesley's Theory, King Kunta, These Walls, u, Alright, The Blacker The Berry & You Aint Gotta Lie alot. its just my opinion in the end and i enjoy the music, which is the most important thing.

don't listen to him lol... anybody who is familiar with this kind of music will tell you different. This isn't dense at all for people familiar with layered music

The saddest thing about Kendrick's career is how a masterpiece like "Cartoons and Cereal" had to be cut, but "Real" got to stay. Real is s---, but I love Compton (Unlike most people).

Narsh makes some good points, but again, I enjoy the music for what it is. I'm very, very muscially open minded. One second, i'm bumping that trap s---, the next i'm bumping Joey Badass and thinking about my life.

like gkmc was mostly kendrick being a great rapper, while tpab is him being a great and more complete artist

tpab & od are literally the only kendrick projects I f--- with (you can add UU to the list now)

I believe I would have enjoyed gkmc a lot more if kendrick was ghostwriting it for another rapper. I like how he planned everything (artwork, structure, etc) but I don't like the idea of kendrick being the main rapper on it, it just doesn't do it for me.

and s80 just too cheap for my ears

i hate this post so much. everything about it: first of all, gkmc teased out a concept very carefully, yet very powerfully--i'm not sure how you realize a conceptual vision better than that. second, being a "rapper" is not a lesser form of art.

but imo its really only "Real" that's bad bad

I've always loved good kid and Dying of Thirst (i know you don't) and never thought kendrick himself was bad on Compton (it just failed in tying the album together as well as it could have)
