Mar 4, 2016 Oh... oh no... I'm guessing you've listened to WTOH, and from the few tracks I heard the beats are very dark sounding and sinister, fitting of Slaughterhouse. You're basically saying the whole album is like... that?
Mar 4, 2016 Ah, but the beats are rather dark sounding right? (Basically is the production similar to tracks like Asylum and Our House)
Mar 4, 2016 Remember My Life ft Cee Lo? Cos i can't seem to forget it, such a pathetic attempt to go mainstream
Mar 4, 2016 I don't even remember that track lol Cee Lo used to be associated with Outkast and Goodie Mob... now he does mainstream songs
Mar 4, 2016 I actually didn't mind alot of their album, the bad songs are just really bad though. I like Joe budden and they can make good songs when they're not just rapping for the sake of rapping. Looking forward to your Graduation reaction, you should do his whole discog
Mar 4, 2016 I'm really not planning to do his whole discography. I only really wanted to listen up to Graduation. After that, doesn't he start to use autotune?
Mar 4, 2016 Why would that matter? He used autotune to great effect on 808's, his next 2 albums after that are completely different
Mar 4, 2016 I'm not the biggest fan of autotune... most of the time is seems like it is used to mask the lack of talent someone may have. Also, is 808s still conscious like TCD and LR were? I'm hoping so.
Mar 4, 2016 Kanye doesn't use it to mask lack of talent, he knows hes not a singer, he uses it to amplify his voice and enhance the emotion imo and create melodies. It's his most personal and self conscious album, he recorded it after his mum died if that helps give you some context
Mar 4, 2016 Yeah, I heard that he recorded the album in montone then used autotune to reflect how he lost his mom.
Mar 4, 2016 He created a whole sound with this album, it really is a piece of art. I'd totally get you not liking it though since you're young
Mar 4, 2016 I may give it a try, since you guys seem to really think it is amazing. If I listen to that album I'll also listen to MBDTF and most likely Yeezus and TLOP. I just want to know something, does Kanye fall off after MDBTF or anything? I've heard tracks like Birthday Song with 2Chainz and Bound 2, and they are nothing compared to these older songs.
Mar 4, 2016 Talking about it has got me listening to it lol I'm listening to 808s now, it's so good. MBDTF was pretty much unbeatable and Yeezus went a complete differently direction musically. TLOP wasn't executed as good as MBDTF but it's not that far behind it in its standout songs. Watch the Throne and Cruel Summer are worth checking out too
Mar 4, 2016 Alright, I am definitely going to have to see about listening to Kanye's entire discography now. I was seriously under the impression that Kanye was going to be like so many other great rappers and artists in general that were amazing but overstayed their welcome and are now s--- because of it. I'm guessing he isn't though.
