Mar 12, 2016 Not really Cruz would be a disastrous president but you aren't hearing incendiary, inflammatory, downright racist rhetoric from him on the level you're hearing from Trump. How could anyone be surprised that the guy who called Mexicans rapists and said Muslims hate America would garner some protests? The GOP embracing this guy is such an absolute nightmare for them, he is setting them back years and years in terms of outreach to minorities. What a disaster.

You can make the point that he meant illegal immigrants rather than legal immigrants - doesn't make what I said any less true. He still said it! You're making a distinction without a significant difference. Donald Trump said Mexico intentionally "sends" rapists to the United States, and Perry the Platypus defends him If everything you said here is true (dubious), it still doesn't excuse or contradict what I said. Patriotic Muslim Americans should not feel alienated and lumped in with terrorists just because Donald Trump is a bigot without any sense of nuance. It's an irresponsible and disgusting thing to say if you're trying to lead our nation. You're right, I have no problem watching the GOP implode. Trump is a monster of their own creation. Again, that doesn't make what I said any less true. Trump's ratings with Hispanics are something like 11 or 12%. If that holds, the party is going to be absolutely crushed in November.
Mar 12, 2016 He said that out of the illegal immigrants coming over, many are criminals and some are good people. They way he said it was quite aggressive and he could well be completely wrong (I have no idea about the stats - probably impossible to get any reliable ones - but I'm sure there are many more "good people" than criminals crossing) but it's miles apart from "Mexicans are rapists" which is a horrific comment. There's no "you can make the point that he meant illegal immigrants rather than legal" about it. He very clearly said illegal immigrants.
