Mar 13, 2016 what? a classic isn't determined by your individual opinion or your own taste. Tpab is classic, and like joe budden said, you can have the argument that its one of the best albums of all time, and not just in hip hop lol. 96/100 on metacritic, the consensus aoty for critics, even though that critical acclaim isn't important for me, media will always mention it among the absolute best albums of this decade, whether you like it or not. Not to mention that it influenced a few albums from goat artists: David Bowie, Chuck D, and more (and you'll probably be able to add herbie hancock to that list). It also had important songs, such as alright being used to fight oppression. Gkmc might be a rap classic, but tpab is a modern classic for music in general, its far bigger than hip hop and received a lot more accolades, praise than its predecessor...it also had a bigger impact if we're being honest. And just to quote herbie hancock, it is a gateway for young jazz fans, it features a revolutionary team of musicians, and helped to bring jazz back into the mainstream
Mar 13, 2016 yeah but 2-3 classics dont make you top 5 of all time. delete thread, de-plus and ban OP

Mar 13, 2016 They're both classic albums, regardless of which album I think is better. I usually don't call anything classic a year after release but I can be objective enough to recognize it will be considered as classic, It's the same s--- for some of thug & future albums/mixtapes. It's all about what will be remembered. I'm just starting to realize that a lot of classic material dropped in 2015, its crazy
