Mar 15, 2016 I'm a lukewarm Drake fan and I'd prefer not to hear his nasally a--- voice on Wolves. If he's doing his simp singing s--- it could work.
Mar 15, 2016 Nah man don't concede that to him. It hasn't clearly been his intent, he just can't actually decide what the f--- he wants to do.
Mar 15, 2016 Also, I wouldn't be that mad if the album we currently have was f---ing amazing but it's not, it really comes close to being a mediocre album overall.
Mar 15, 2016 The album is a f---ing mess man. And don't give me that s--- "oh its intentionally so!" because I know that. It's just not well executed. You have Kanye bringing his worst rapping ever on some of these songs, the lyrics half the time are lazy as f--- and some of the beats aren't that great either. Not to mention the complete lack of cohesion, thematically or sonically, and more. I've forced myself to stop listening to the album because the more I listen, the more I dislike it.
Mar 15, 2016 tbh I actually like the album a good bit. I think it's a mediocre Kanye album but still a pretty d--- good album. I can totally see why anyone would be disappointed though because I was at first, it just grew on me a lot. Could be much better though. Doesn't equal the sum of its parts.
Mar 15, 2016 never b didnt u read the tweet? hashtag #contemporary art hashtag #living #breathing #changing #creative #expression hashtag hashtag hashtag hashtag the air of mystery, at least for me comes from the fact that, like you said, we dont know when this (whatever "this" is) is going to be done. how transparent kanye has been isnt a fault...its part of what makes this so fascinating. like..he genuinely seems to mean what he says when he says it (from bill cosby innocent !!! to we're starting good fridays again lol) but isnt insecure enough to say f--- it and go another route. sure, does it come off "inconsiderate" to the fans at times, yeah but how f---ing cares. only the people that paid for something they didnt received should be invested enough to get upset. the rest should just be sitting back and letting this play out... i understand you have to kind of already like kanye as a person to fully buy into all this, but the idea that he's going crazy or doesnt know what hes doing, is so baseless. hes living in the moment, id suggest you do the same
Mar 15, 2016 yeah i agree -- the point of this whole exercise should partly be to make us look at the quality of the material for what it is...like hes done inadvertantly in the past w his public image vs his work. by blurring the line between the man and the art even more, hes consequently teaching us to separate the art from the man -- if that makes sense. only issue is this isnt MBDTF lol so people arent as eager to see it from that pov
Mar 15, 2016 Please stop acting like you know s--- about contemporary art. I know you don't but because Kanye's now doing it, you suddenly seem like an expert. Two of artists I'm a big fan of are Death Grips and Dean Blunt, both who utilize contemporary art greatly within their music and how they promote it/themselves. If you do some research on either of these artists I'm talking about, you see Kanye intentionally and unintentionally taking influence from what they do. The problem Kanye has right now, especially with this album release, is that he doesn't seem to know if he wants to do something outside of the system or within it. An artist dropping an early version of their album, a demo tape of sorts, is cool as f---. You know what isn't cool as f---? Making people pay money to go watch that set of demos live and then making them pay more to hear another version of those demos afterwards. Contemporary art at times is a dig at capitalism but Kanye doesn't seem to understand this. While it's obvious some of this s--- is planned, it's gone way too far now to the point where I don't even care anymore. And all this s--- happening right now is for a really bad album by Kanye standards.
Mar 15, 2016 Kanye apparantly separated Frank's part from Wolves into it's own track (called Frank's Track), and Wolves itself is now like 5 minutes on Tidal instead of the normal 3:58. But it won't play so no one knows what it sounds like.
