Apr 7, 2016 My opinion on the tape is that It sounds very rushed which now that we know the backstory behind it, we know it was. With that being said if we're going to call this a mixtape then lets judge it that way. For me this could very well be the best mixtape of 2015. If we're going to call this an album lets judge it that way, and this "album" wouldn't even really rankin the top 3 for Drake or Futures discography. As an album this thing is very underwhelming. Now this thing does have some gems on it Jumpman, DD, Digital Dash, 30 for 30, plastic bag, and Live from the gutter. I mean the whole thing is solid just underwhelming from where both future and drake were at in their careers. So it could be our fault for getting our expectations too high, or maybe future and drake just cant really blend their styles either way i still play this thing as least once a day. At least one song. But thats just my opnion.
Apr 7, 2016 Actually Scholarship could have been the best song on the album, Drake wasn't completely awful but Futures verse just had so much emotion and then Drake comes in with one of the most forgettable verses ever. Scholarships should have been a Future solo. Future came through Metro came through Drake didn't
Apr 7, 2016 He was okay, you cant say that another Future verse wouldn't have been better tho. You can just hear the pain in Futures voice during the verse and hook "I wake up on a daily basis
I count this money up, I'm already rich
I go so hard with these riches
I fell in love with this dodie
I fell in love with the rollie
I wake up, and pray every morning
These demons, they callin' my soul I said f--- all of you hoes
Apr 7, 2016 its been a minute since i heard change locations, but you're right. they're not as similar as i remember. there was something about the hook that made it feel that way to back when the s--- dropped DD is definitely overrated lol, people were calling it one of the best songs of 2015. Scholarship is pretty good yeah. Could've been better. That hook is awesome. Drake sounds out of place. Yeah yea said "metro boomin make it BOOM on these hoes!!" but, like basically every other verse from drake on this tape, its just him pulling the wool over the eyes of his fans. they (not saying you) dont even take a second to realize how out of context his s--- sounds (scholarships and live from the gutter are both great examples). Honestly it's both the rappers fault to some extent. Future could've switched his content and rapped about Ciara or something but instead he spits some heartfelt s--- about the gutter, and drake comes through with how he "stick and moves on these hoes" -- a lot of the song feels this disjointed. It's easy to blame drake because I dont think he's nearly as good of a rapper as future, but ultimately its hard to place blame on just one of them. As for your last point, neither rapper was a "highlight" on plastic bag to me. Both were great on digital dash, probably one of drakes best verses on the tape (funny how he says "walked in with a girl thats makin triple what im makin" tho when you think about the "world tour or your girls tour" diss to meek lol). Future was better on im the plug and jumpman, even tho drake probably gets quoted more. but thats what drakes there for. to make s--- accessible to people that otherwise wouldnt check out a future track its just funny (or disappointing) how to Drake, the only way to try and match future's vibe is to be as misogynistic as possible lmao. its just like he realized he cant rap about the same struggle or whatever as future, so his go to content on the entire tape was s--- like "she was acting like a virgin, i gave it to her then i curved her." it's corny
Apr 7, 2016 Liked it. Only issue I have with it really is that it's more Future than Drake when I was hoping it'd be equal. Good thing Fewtch killed it tho
Apr 7, 2016 Yes I am. You give me 5 "mixtapes" that generated that many hits and money and then ill admit I was wrong but you just cant.It just goes to show that even when future and drake don't put out their best work its still way ahead of what the rest of the industry is doing.
