Has anyone actually made a 16 track b-----r album though. He can take any topic and make it sound like a b-----r. Look at 21 questions by 50. That was a love song but still a b-----r.

    Basically what this man said:

An album is like a movie, a book, there's a beginning, a middle and the end and its not just about having a story, you need to find a cohesive sound, you need to have a perfect sequencing.

Wtf, I'd hate to hear an album with more than half of the songs being bangers.

Very true. It did work out for a few artists (DMX, 50 cent,..) but these are rare exceptions

No thanks, double disc albums are usually full of fillers. I can't see kendrick doing that either, specially when you know he recorded like 60 tracks for each album

The pretentious notion that something classified as a b-----r isn't as valid as conscious s--- is something Kendrick and his contemporaries abhor and it baffles me how many of his fans contradict him on it.

its not even about conscious music or anything lmao, its all about musical composition and how 90% of the bangers of the last few years are all about random drums and bass put together.

Now if we were talking about the bangers that were poppin 12-20 years ago, s--- would be a different story. Making bangers was a real musical process...not some random s---.
The reason dre's old stuff was amazing is because back in the day warren g/Daz along with some other musicians used to produce some of his stuff. Then people like scott storch, DJ quik, Then you had Dre adding his signature piano and drums to things... Everything was covered, analyzed, it wasn't just kicks, bass, snares and instrumental loops...they had an understanding of the entire beat structure.
Now you have them modern day beatmakers trying to do everything themselves even though they don't know s--- about more complex musical ideas, they only know how to "add effects"

Old heads don't say this era only produce generic music for the sake of it... an experienced ear can actually recognize if a beat is great or generic.

Edit: just to be fair, Dre became lazy too. He's probably using audio loops and his supporting orchestration is his computer.
