This is a little too rote. There's no criticism, there are no jokes, there's not much in the way of insight. Every major publication does year-in-review stuff; if you as a small blogger want to steal some of that attention you have to do something novel, be better than everybody else, or both.

I don't know anything about your point of view: you're basically parroting the middle-of-the-road opinion on the year's most popular records. I'd also be careful calling 2014 "one of the worst years for the genre in a very long time." I mean, Pinata? Dark Comedy? Rich g---? Run the Jewels? h--- Can Wait?

Basically, you've got to give readers some sort of value if they're going to invest any time into reading you. (I also would absolutely not have a quote about the suburbs at the top of your blog.)

appreciate the feedback, it was the first article I've ever written and I was just doing it for fun. I did really enjoy a few albums from 2014 including RTJ, Cilvia Demo & Oxymoron to name a few but I really think it doesn't compare to a lot of the other recent years. I do agree I didn't really make a huge effort to criticize as much as I should of, I instead tried to focus on strictly providing a recap of the year.

BTW, the suburb quote is just a play on the Pac line "just cause you're in the ghetto doesn't mean you can't grow" from Brenda's Got a Baby (reference to my site name brendasbaby). I thought it might be appealing to some people. Thanks for taking the time to read though boss.
