Views sounds elementary compared to TPAB. But at the same time, most of the rap released in the past decade sounds elementary compared to Tpab.

TPAB attacks a much more challenging base and the musical quality is plainly better.

Is DJ Quik a greater authority on music than you? Does his opinion hold more weight than yours? Does what he likes and dislikes dictate what you like and dislike? Who the f--- cares what DJ Quik says.

GKMC, Free TC, and My Krazy Life are all better west coast albums than TPAB to me.

A lot of you are day 1 fans, or at least as old as me (meaning you started listening back when OD dropped). I can't fathom how anyone can listen to a song like b---- Don't k--- My Vibe, and then anything off of TPAB and not be a little sad.

it incorporates elements of jazz, its not a jazz album... I'm not clicking coz I know it's a troll

however, you might enjoy this review by the very respected martin connor... on why you can have the argument that tpab might be the most precise musically constructed album in hip hop history http://www.rapanalysis.com/2015/07/kendrick-lamar-to-p-----butterfly-review.html

oh no, I'm more than just a day 1 fan. I'm gonna be 37 soon, so I been listening to music for a very long time.

a song like bdkmv just doesn't impress me. However, most of the songs on tpab had me like: "d---, this is very high quality music"

Dj quik was on a podcast and gave great arguments as to why it was prolly the best album to ever come out of that region.

But he was looking at it as an album, not just a rap album.

With that being said, there's 2 (L.A.) jazz albums from 1982 that are just as good, if not better.

unlike you, quik wasn't talking about the albums he f---s with, he was putting all bias aside and talking about what he believed to be the best albums of the west.

If we're talking about what we personally like, then jesus piece is a guilty pleasure, I will never consider it as a great album though. It's pretty much the same for mkl (as far as I'm concerned)

At least with TPAB there is ambition behind it even if that ambition doesn't feel as successful on the 5th listen as it does on the first. There are pockets that still work well, while Views is kind of just a mess to begin with. It's safe to a fault.

Holy f--- at bringing Jesus Piece in to the argument when we're talking about albums like MKL and FTC.
