May 27, 2016 Between these new alternate TLOP takes surfacing and what @Koolo already confirmed, it seems that Chance worked more on TLOP than Kanye did himself Last year Drake got crucified by us because of Quentin Miller's writing credits, do you think Kanye is more deserving?
May 27, 2016 I dunno. People criticized Dr. Dre for the same thing throughout his career. I always view it like movie Directors who may or may not write their scripts and manipulate various talents for a final product. The final product approved by them is unique to their direction. As for Drake, I see that his team does this with PND (pull lyrics they like apply else where) but the references leaked voiced by QM seem to be relatively complete songs with little edits.
May 27, 2016 Original waves had chance doing both the full verses and hook, was probably a song meant for surf Original ulb same case Original fsmh only had chance doing the hook, i doubt he's responsible for the a------ line The list probably goes on
May 27, 2016 QMs reference tracks wernt even that bad tbh blown way out of proportion. the only song that Q did the majority of is 10 bands. Mostly just the hook of Used too and Know Yourself.......Rico, drake took a couple lines out of but pretty much just took the first opening bars then the "ovo top szn reps up you might just get hit with the rico" Chance did the most on the other hand.
May 27, 2016 I just don't know why Kanye gets a pass and Drake got dragged through the mud for it. Based on what we have it seems like Chance did way more for TLOP than QM did for IYRT. Well said.
May 27, 2016 Nah on that Zane interview Chance was saying the version of Waves we heard was one where Kanye had already cut out major parts of the beat and reworked it. Ye had more involvement in Chance's creation of Ye's reference track than Drake had on his final product, that's why there's a clear distinction.
May 27, 2016 Well we don't really know the process of Drake/QM since neither have said much about it. On the production/song structure side yes Ye was more involved, but he spit Chance's verse almost word for word on Waves & ULB. I thought when he was saying he cut this and that he was talking about Ye cutting the choir and other things from ULB?
May 27, 2016 No, Waves. As far as I understand ULB chance had no hand in building. He just spit a verse. Another artist even commented Chance wasnt on the record when she laid her vocals. But, perhaps they removed his vocals on the version they sent her. Ain't no telling, just speculating with minor flashes into the behind-the-scenes creative process
May 27, 2016 Yeah it's hard cause we're never gonna really know how either of these albums went down. The final product was good on both, so I'm not gonna put too much into it.
May 27, 2016 what? f--- off we crucified Drake, if anything we were still on his d-ck like ":D doesn't matter he didn't write his lyrics :D" and everyone was shi--ing on meek mill. Anyways, Kanye is vocal about getting others to help him etc. Drake almost never mentions/mentioned these people or what they did, because he wants that image of "i write my own lyrics" or at the very least, he didn't want people to know he had people helping him write. (but coco they're credited on drake's albums!!!) Do you think they feel special, knowing that if you buy a physical, you'll read their name in really tiny print at the bottom of a page? Drake is literally a Hollywood manufactured artist, where Kanye isn't.
