sorta, they f----- up competitive battling. Like there used to be a meta, but that got flipped on its head hard by mega evo's. Now the meta is just bans on bans on bans and it's like you have to use a certain mega evo, or you lose. Competitive scene wise, sun and moon should do wonders for Pokemon. The current meta is so bad that, the last official pokemon tourney everyone had the exact same 6 pokemon 90% of the time. it's kinda funny, but like the top 16 players in the world all have the same team

I'm not a hardcore fan that does competition, just like to play the new pokemon when it's out, I don't do the competitive stuff. I just mean that when you play with a legendary pokemon mostly and every battle you have to start by using that mega evolution and I don't get the point of it because there's no advantage or strategy by not using it. Just make another evol

Pokemon Black/White 2 are my personal favorites in the last couple of years. Fusing the two Pokemon together was a nice touch

Do the emulators even work (on phones) these days? Since I started doing 14-15 hr shifts on a weekly basis and have lots of time to k--- during them I wanted to try them out but it wouldn't work.

I haven't done competitive battling since gen 3 but I think the need for the mega stone was to not allow the megas to hold items. Of course it doesn't matter when you've got ridiculous abilities like halving damage from super effective moves (are you kidding me what is even the point)

gen 3 was the peak of the battle system, nothing too broken that couldnt be countered. Save for using explosion in double battles when your other pokemon is ghost type .

Pokemon was my favorite thing growing up, I still check the news about it online, if they have any new releases, etc.

Last game I played and completed was Omega Ruby, I have most of the games prior to that (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Ruby, White, White2, X, Soulsilver, Platinum, Pearl, LeafGreen, maybe a couple I'm leaving out? Yeah, I know, I have quite a bit haha)

I also played the Pokemon Ranger games and the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games are my favorite part of the series,.

I never really do any of the after-quests, so basically I just beat the Final 4 and really never play the game after that, unless there's some fun mini-games or multiplayer content that you can do with friends. I think Pearl was one of my most completed games, I almost had a full Pokedex

Anyway, I sold my 3DS like last year, mainly because I never really play it. Kind of falling out with video games recently

I kinda wanna get a new one though, I need to play Sun/Moon. The only reason I didn't is because I thought Go would come out beforehand, and I'd be so busy playing that game I wouldn't need a 3DS but they tricked me lol

Gen III for the Mystery Dungeon games, Blue Rescue Team was the first one I played & loved (and the first one that came out)
Looking back, I'd also have to say Gen III for the Pokemon series too. Having Ruby & Emerald, Hoenn was one of my favorite regions.
And I loved those beauty contests and making those little secret hideouts
The only reason I don't say Omega Ruby, even though I have it, is because I think the new games way too easy. I can make it through the game in less than a week if I played about an hour a day. The perfect example is this is Mega Evolutions, which I don't really care for and just provide way too much help & assistance to the player imo.
Gen II makes a close second, Johto was pretty lit
