So Wizkid wrote One Dance. How much is not exactly clear but he wrote the song and gave it to Drake. Lmao. I don't even know how far this goes anymore.

Guys apparently Cole killed it last night
I'm so jealous of every single a------ who went to the Cole show

Ps. The first time I heard One Dance I knew it was written by Wizkid. If you listen to some Wizkid songs in general you can tell it's his "style" if that makes sense. As much as drake is a sentimental artist,Wizkid type of sentiment is the written all over the One Dance song. If you listen to "Ojuelgba" (the song featuring Drake) maybe you'll understand what I'm trying to say better.

I've said it once ill say it a million times ... i don't even care if drake needs help writing those types of songs

its when it comes out that he has ghostwriting for songs like views, 4pm in calabasas ... so on that there becomes a problem for me

for songs like one dance he is essentially a pop artist and pop artists do nothing but have songs written by someone else (see: rihanna) so why should that not apply for drake

although it would be nice to still know he contributes to writing those types of songs and I'm sure he has i really have no problem with him getting help on those ones

unless the african producer sampled that kyla song in the first place, but anyways if anything its kyla who should say drake stole her song but she's a part of one dance so she would never ... its just a sample like any other

But its true. Most songs are not written by her or any of those pop stars. If she wrote 5 words i can't buy that as a co-write. It says that she co-wrote Work, yeah, maybe changed PND's "she" to "he". Genius.
EDIT: At the end of the day i dont give a d--- about that stuff. The whole music thing is a big industry, you just see the final product that they want you to see.

Yeah hiphop and authenticity has always been unique but those standards seem to get applied to drakes pop tracks as well. Drake got the versatility to do tracks like 4pm in calabasas and one dance so can't really apply same standards to both. That said its pretty clear he's gone more down the pop route which is why I think the Cole Kendrick argument is becoming less relevant for him in terms of best rapper

Nah she says they striped everything but the rhythm. So it was originally an afrobeat but they kept the rhythm and 40 and nineteen85 produced over that. Don't know if ts true though.
