The offside rule, the ball being alot (alot harder) to control making man-man marking more annoying for attackers to recieve the ball in dangerous positions but also makes it risky as them getting beaten leaves a massive space behind. the size of the goal makes shooting alot more angular and spatial, and brings in the need for dedicated goalkeeping with defenses that have to balance active counter pressure off the ball with disciplined defense since shooting is a constant threat. Goals are made harder to score by active defense meaning the weight of a goal carries more value. Collective group play can very easily reduce the value of individual talent from an opposing team (the life story of lionel messi)
The mental drag of being ONE single goal down is massive hindrance in must win situations, so mistakes are much more fatal. the man-man vs spatial marking dynamic, the fact that simply 'blocking' someone without going for the ball making tackling alot harder and more technical. Usage of tactical fouling, and weighting where on the field is a safe freekick range to do so. The countless set plays (that america lovs to use to score first minute goals on jamaica) that are possible from rehearsed positions. The fact that the part of your body used to run has to also move the ball.

I am so happy and proud to be Welsh right now. My first ever Welsh match was a 3-0 smashing from Brasil back in 2000 and I've gone regularly to home games since. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make it out to France, but I've caught every Euro game in the local pubs.

I truly believe we can go all the way to the final now. Portugal have been the least impressive team in the tournament.
