Jul 6, 2016 the premise of your post is incorrect, its not an opinion whether there are restrictions or not, its a fact that We as citizens do not have access to the arsenal that the police, swat, and millitary do, for obvious reasons. You say that police have this irrational fear of citizens because of the guns that citizens own. I disagree and I think that it's basically dumb. Cops can do what they want with guns. They can murder people, execute people on video and get away with it. citizens can't. Cops would be f---ing us up if there were guns or weren't guns its just a stupid point
Jul 6, 2016 what? did you read what i said i didnt say that at all, you just never see consistently overly aggressive officers anywhere else
Jul 6, 2016 what is fuelling it then, in your opinion, and racism isnt valid because racism happens everywhere in the world and black men arent pinned down and shot in cold blood everywhere
Jul 6, 2016 there has to be a reason why this happens only in America and consistently @Lamont would Alton have been shot if he didnt have a gun on him, we can't say, but i'd put my money on no the officer should get 10+ years for this
Jul 7, 2016 Apparently there was another incident in Minnesota tonight where a black man was killed by a cop, started over a busted tail light I guess. Haven't heard the full details yet. The guy was 32 who got killed.
Jul 7, 2016 In case anyone thought this s--- was over: A 32-year-old man name Philando Castile was just killed in Falcon Heights, which is basically an area on the east side of Minneapolis (my hometown). He was driving with his girlfriend in the passenger seat and his girlfriend's daughter in the back when he was pulled over for having a broken taillight. By the time his girlfriend started live streaming (through that FB function, not sure how it works but it's already got like 1.5 mil plays), Castile was bleeding out. The girlfriend was calm and measured and explained what happened: the officer asked Castile for his license and registration; Castile informed the officer that he is licensed to carry a firearm and had a pistol on his waistline; when he reached for his wallet and the gun became visible, the officer shot him three to six times in the arm and chest. It's reported that he was declared dead at the hospital. During the live stream, Castile's girlfriend explains what I just did in greater detail and in a slow, calm, but clear and deliberate voice. The officer who fired the shots does not dispute any of the account; instead he's still waving his gun in the face of the dying man, shrieking hysterically. (Later in the stream, when the girlfriend is being cuffed and arrested for being in the passenger seat when her boyfriend was murdered, the officer can be heard screaming "f---ing n----.") The video captures what is more than likely Castile's death, plus her arrest by at least three police officers (none moves to the car to attempt basic first aid) and the voice of her daughter, who tries to comfort her. It's readily available online. If you still think the police are simply using force when necessary and aren't some jumpy trigger-happy sacks of s--- in way over their heads, watch it.
Jul 7, 2016 An officer in my town killed a college kid and he got officer of the year award. My friend is family friends with him and every time I brought it up he'd get mad
Jul 7, 2016 Jay-Z shouted him out on WTT My friend is family friends with the cop is what I meant btw :3
Jul 7, 2016 Again, if you're skeptical as to the callousness and incompetence of the police in America, watch that. But if you already know how painful it'll be to do so, please don't. I've never seen anything that's going to give me nightmares the way this will. I can't really describe how horrifying it is. Personally, I feel a compulsion to watch and re-watch these videos. I was trying to explain it to a friend tonight: I think, deep down, I know that as painful as it is to see, the cops don't want us to watch, and the victims surely would. But if you feel personally affected by any of this, there's no shame in steering clear. It's shocking.
Jul 7, 2016 Now this is completely f-----. "The police" are not a single homogeneous entity. This has zero bearing on what did or did not occur during the Sterling arrest.
