I called Portugal from the beginning....they might be the team of destiny...played ugly, scrappy soccer but by beating Croatia, Poland, wales they deserve to be here...I hope they can pull off the upset...France are obvious heavy favorites but anything can happen...I think Portugal record against France is horrendous...for the past 10-15 years I think France has always won...

This is the game Ronaldo needs to perform at another level...or hopefully someone on the Portugal team suprises everyone? we know what Sanches, Nani can do but maybe Adrien? Joao Mario? Quaresma off the bench?

Griezmann is half Portuguese by the way lol; that sucks for Portuguese fans having a striker like that would change their whole dynamic lol

the media has been harsh on Portugal.....why? cause everyone hates Ronaldo? they played ugly? all it matter is if you continue on....luck is big in knockout format....they have been good enough to win against 3 formable teams...

It would make Ronaldo a top 3 of all time to win a trophy for such a small country, and sub-par talent imo

A few recognized how technical the team actually was.
nothing spectacular, in terms of tactics portugal is potentially better than anyone.
Boring at times, no doubt about that
Rothen had half a career in ligue 1, he lives off that one, I'm not too worry about what he says
he few experts in the press wrote about the skills of portugal (eurosport France, Didier Roustan also, who is a big expert here)

Bottom line,
my two countries in the finals
my blood still say Portugal tho.

Adrien and Antony Lopes are French/Portuguese too and Matuidi is angolan.

We don't have a sub-par talent, the tactics are very inflexible which makes impossible to show all their skills.

I agree that we dont play a beautiful football but we play good and the next years will be better.

The next generation is great, the best since Figo and Rui Costa. Im just drop here the next portuguese big thing (19 years old and he already signed for Atl. Madrid).

true....I guess when people state sub-par Portugal players...its more so because they don't play on big clubs like members of Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Brasil, Argentina do...I hope the next generation is good...I feel like its been like that for many years lol some countries have great youth teams that never materialize as adults...

good luck finding another Cristiano Ronaldo...the man has been doing it since 18...some of these other guys have fallen off and now revived their career (Nani, Quaresma were both considering to be next Ronaldo or better than Ronaldo) he's 1 of a kind...but hopefully Portugal has a bunch of talent all at the same time...imagine having Ronaldo, Figo, Rui Costa, Eusebio in their prime lol unfortunately Portugal seems to only get 1 generational legend....that's the problem with a small country...

I hope Portugal is good for another 4-6years with this young talent and a veteran Ronaldo...hope they are not busts like many previous Portuguese players lol or current Belgium stars

Dioga Jota looks good, hopefully plays for Athletico good learning experience, Renato @ Bayern, Guerreiro @ Borussia Dortmund...its great that they get their chance...sometimes they get buried in the rotation as young players...if they don't excel at a high rate...sometimes better to develop in the domestic Portuguese league....but time will tell...again only 1 of a kind Ronaldo, Figo, Rui Costa leave Portugal and only play on BIG Time squads consistently

I'm a bit torn on who to support, besides my native Mexico & USA my footballing heroes when I was a kid were from France and Portugal (Zidane and Luis Figo). It's a close call since both of these teams have been strangely effective in their runs to the final.
