lol are we on the same planet or something? I just tried scanning 3 flying birds with red dots on them and nothing happened ... every other time it scans whatever i point at without much effort

i just renamed my system to the thegobah system and i also tried to get 3 birds with red dots. i wound up finding them later and got closer and scanned them and named them birdass birds

no i found a beacon that told me shelter and advanced life was near so im heading towards that. it was a b---- finding zinc for the thruster thing so im pretty far from the ship at this point anyway.

have you found out how to tunnel yet? i saw videos of people literally just shooting holes in the ground and creating caves and digging into existing cave systems and making their own rivers and s---, but my weak a--- pissy squirt gun doesnt affect s--- and the mine gun isnt doing anything

You can run? Thank god. I thought I tried pressing R3 already but maybe not. I agree the movement is stiff and really awkward. Doesn't feel like a FPS or first person game at alll... it feels like I'm in a car or something looking around like GTA. I only played for an hour or so last night so I'm finna get at it now.

Hopefully there's a better way than transferring s--- between yourself and your ship... because my inv was full and so was my ship... I had to dispose of random trinket things and shields that I found to make room for minerals smh Not nearly enough space

All this talk about how impossible it would be to actually find each other in the universe...



2 streamers were on the same planet on twitch today and there was no indication that they were both there... no "ghosts" "shadows" nothing... it was like Destiny when you entered separate instances... Sean said there would be some indicator so you would know another player was nearby/there/etc

No Man’s Sky fans have long wondered whether it’s possible to see other players if they’re on the same planet. The answer, it appears, is no.

Player TheSadCactus noticed this afternoon that he had landed on a planet discovered by a different player, named Psytokat. SadCactus sent his new buddy a message, and before long the two players were both on Twitch, streaming their progress as they tried to meet up in the same place at the same time to see what might happen.

What happened was... nothing. As of post time they’re still experimenting, but it appears that different players are all located in different instances within the game (which is why you can pause). They haven’t been able to see each other on either planets or a neighboring space station.


Observers had long believed that running into another player in No Man’s Sky, as unlikely as it may be, would allow you to see them. In a 2014 interview, designer Sean Murray made it seem as if players would run into one another while traveling. He has since discouraged people from focusing on multiplayer.

What I don't get is like for what it is NMS is an enjoyable game, so why did they advertise it as having all this other extra s--- that they knew full well they wouldn't deliver on? "Minecraft/Elite Dangerous hybrid" sounds fine enough on its own why'd they have to d-ck around with out expectations.

That being said Im having a lot of fun with the game.
