Aug 20, 2016 ???? Degrassi???? Hotline bling Cha Cha???? He "wanted" to pursue a rap career and got other people to help him write from the get-go???? Clear to me he doesn't have a passion for making music and just making money. But it's cool I still like some of his music and I'm sure you guys too. But I think he's a piece of s--- and that's fine.
Aug 20, 2016 He loved music since he was a little kid...it's in his family. The passion is there...but it's layered in focus groups marketing and other bs.
Aug 20, 2016 Yeah Id agree with this. We all love music and if we had the chance/knowledge I'm sure we'd have a crack at making our own music. Point is, I'm gonna sound like s--- cause 0 experience. Drake skipped that part and was such a huge rap Stan he bought writers so he could become just like his rap idols
Aug 20, 2016 I can't imagine kanye using ghostwriters for TLOP, way too much s-----y lines for it to be ghostwritten. And if he does than he needs to fire his writing staff lol.
Aug 20, 2016 I know RICO for sure was not credited to QM and there were a few others that I can't recall right now. Like I said though, even if All Day, and every Kanye song ever, was written by someone else, it's still Kanye coming up with the blueprint for the song and it's his vision. Drake on the other hand picks and chooses what he thinks are the best verses and lines and just throws them together with no real vision. Take Care is an exception of course, which is clearly his best work to me, but he lazily tries to recreate key parts of that album which is why his music has become so stale to me.
Aug 20, 2016 Apparently not enough when you still see people put Easy and Dre in their top 10 frequently. That's because RICO was originally a Drake throwaway. Meek hit Drake up when he was recording his album and he told him they had to do a song together. Drake sent meek the RICO beat with his verse already on it and Meek slapped his verse on after. Drake isn't in charge of the credentials that are put on Meek's album. And com'on man... This is so nitpicky even if accurate. I'm not going to sit here and act like I know Drake or Kanye's entire music process. Neither of us do. What we do know is they both use writers pretty extensively.
Aug 20, 2016 i think kanye gets away with it more because people can see his intentions are to genuinely make good music from the start kinda obvious drake's an industry plant when he started as a child actor
Aug 20, 2016 Because Kanye very rarely drops lines like "On my DMX s---, I group DM my exes" or "turn the 6 upside down it's a 9 now" Drake gets clowned for having a team of professionals penning every song for him and still coming out with lines that sound like parody
Aug 21, 2016 "Industry plant" LOL. So him starting out as a child actor means he cant pursue another passion? I don't see the connect
