I feel like he's really trying to make people think he's considering retirement (but he thought people would care more lol - to the point where it would build hype for him, instead he just been so ghost that we don't care but anyways -) ... when he actually has a project full of really positive music on the way

at least thats what i hope cause i can't take another depressing project

Love Yourz is as positive as a song can get @2014 Forever Lives JCN. Crooked Smile, Dollar and Dream cuts and the whole Dreamville brand = positivity and following your dreams. He always has a balance of serious/"depressed" songs and positive vibes.

We haven't heard enough of Cole the past year or so to judge that he's only going to make "depressing" songs. But you know he's most likely gonna have a balance

Bruh that's not ever gonna happen. Cole is labeled as a struggle rapper and will always be one. His music is the most suited for people who are emotionally unstable and depressed. Always been that way. That's why over the years there have been thousands of kids or people saying he changed their lives, save them, spoke to them etc. And that's perfectly fine, cause I've been there too, but now that I'm older and snapped out of that s--- I don't have desire to play his music most of the time cause his lyrics and content has basically stayed the same since day 1. He knows what got him here and works for him and gonna stay in that lane, just like Drake and every other artist not named Kendrick Lamar.

agree except for the emotionally unstable and depressed Part. I think he just makes music for ppl tryna make it. The reason he has stans is cause we all gravitated towards his come up. Regular dude with a scholarship who worked his a--- off to follow his dreams.

Word, that's prolly a better way to say it. All of these dudes that came up between 2008, 2009 are reaching the twilight of their careers as far as music content goes, they have nothing to say no more that haven't been said already. And I ain't mad about that, cause that's just the way it goes, like 50, Em and all the others that went through it. Only Kendrick can still do something different and classic.

Lol, watched some of Jay Electronica's set at MIA yesterday. He brought 1,000 people on stage with him and his set was mostly boring. He's trying to get relevant again by sparking controversy with having people flood the stage. Sad!

but songs like "i get up" and "show me something" are about some dark things and trying to make it but still have an uplifting vibe and sound to them ... its crazy to say but he still has yet to top those songs imo

but yeah I'm not going back on my love of FHD, its for sure his best project imo and has stood the test of time ... i just really want to see him advance to a more positive uplifting sound, even more lighthearted at times (like bitchez lol) on the next project

no hate on love yourz at all it was like my favourite song for a long time when it dropped and it dropped at a perfect time for me when i was struggling with some things ... but even tho it has a positive message it still does have a bit of a depressing sound ... like u listen to it when ur feeling down to make me feel ur not alone and make u feel better BUT NOT when ur already feeling happy, then it doesn't really have the same effect u know ...

so i guess thats really what music comes down to as well, not just what music the artist is making but also where u are at in ur life ... and these two things coming together and lining up ... thats probably why so many of us became such big fans of cole because his come up lined up with where we were all at in our lives ... i had hoop dreams back then and warm up/FNL were feeding my hunger, don't know if those projects would even have the same effect on me now as they did back then
