I have to be missing something here. There must be some hidden quadruple entendre here to rationalize this line.
"It's killing me so much when I sleep, I wake up dead"

This can't be all there is to it. I'm the one to defend most of the lines commonly criticized as bad lines, but I have nothing to say in defense of this line. This is literally kindergarten level of joking "hey I woke up dead haha". There's absolutely no defending this, unless it was awkwardly put here to have a quadruple meaning and is actually so clever it went over my head.

I like Die Alone, the lyrics are great up until the last line. The s-----y bridge between 2nd and 3rd verse is ruining the song, and I'm about to cut that part out so it never bothers me again, but Eminem did a great job, EXCEPT this one line. Oh, and of course, the beat stops so we don't miss it.

This is probably Eminem's worst line ever.

This is a wild stab in the dark haha. BUT.... Scary movie 3 parodies 8 Mile... In this movie they have a huge conversation about if you can wake up dead.... Eminem is in 8 Mile. He now parodies the parody of his movie by using their convo in song :P haha, nah I'm not sure always wondered this myself. Could be wake, like funeral.

I had a lucid dream once. As soon as I realized it's a dream, I shot myself in the head. Good times.
