Rap God's sales doesn't include spotify streams. RIAA has a new rule man.

if he actually reads the f---in thing

royce heavily implied a while ago that they try keeping s--- like this from him. which is actually f---in r-----ed because he's being told that all his music output is fantastic and then we get songs like Twerk Dat Pop That and Right For Me.

Eminem is at his best when he actually cares about what he's doing. That's why most if not all of his diss tracks are enjoyable because you can tell he cares. They sound pretty much effortless as opposed to chopping up words and making 40 syllable rhyme acapellas in a low monotone voice and throwing a random beat in the background and trying to make it fit.

...You realize those rules apply to Broccoli too, right? They didn't do it just to inconvenience Grandpa Mathers.

Everyone in his posse still brings up his name when asked who are the best rappers out lol But I mean, he must know the truth. He changed after Relapse and now he's changing again. Too bad it just gets worse and worse every time. He needs to just retire and release all the s--- from the vault.

I think he was doing just fine until Rick Rubin came along and introduced him to all of this rock and country bs... eminem does NOT mix with rock or country AT ALL, and because of all the yes men he's surrounded by he thinks he does. Rick Rubin really screwed him up in 2013 because it gave him a really poor sense of what sort of music he should be making and what sounds "good." After MMLP2 his ability to flow well went to complete s--- and it's sad because it's like he thinks he is back in his game and getting better but he is really bad now unfortunately. He is capable of making some of the best music in the world and I hope he does but he allowed himself to be influenced way too much by the people around him who have no clue what he's talking about. He also never has any good modern artists featured in his albums (do you guys count Rihanna as good? lol) because he doesn't really socialize with many other rappers at this point... the more he raps the more it seems like he's fallen off and it's sad. I want him to do well and make great music and put out the best songs ever but I'm starting to feel like he just can't anymore :/

I can't remember exactly but they had a new rule in 2014 or 2015. So Broccoli actually only sold 500k or something but it is 2x Platinum because they include streams. These rules don't apply to old songs like Rap God.

Rubin is not to blame. He's a genius

It's Em's own fault. All of it. He had already experimented with the rock arena sound on Recovery with "Won't Back Down" and "Cinderella Man". He just for some reason thought a throwback to MMLP = 80's beats and scratches. Rubin came in and did exactly what was expected, it was Em's fault for the beat choice, delivery, flow etc. Rick was there to produce beats, that's it.

Well if you really want to get nitpicky there isn't a way to physically purchase broccoli, and moist Eminem fans probably can't operate the Internet well enough to make a Spotify account so I think it evens out.

which brings us to this conclusion: em is trash he's been trash for 10 years, but why are there people in this section, why is this section still existing. Personally I think em is spent, he did all he had to do, what he's doing now is just for the money, you can see that making rap music bores him, that's why he's always trying out all these stupid flows, rap is no longer interesting to him he just wants to live. BUT for someone who has been s--- for 10 years, he's still selling out stadiums in seconds, I don't think he cares about reviews anymore.

No but disliking young thug (esp to the point that you can't be bothered to fact check whether or not he uses auto tune or mumbles) is a pretty clear indicator of a rap fan that's forgoing musical progression for convention, and Eminem is as generic and conventional to this generation of old heads as you can get.

This is so spot on its not even funny.

Great read. Helped form my own thoughts of Eminem into words.

I take it some stans in this thread have already denied this being accurate? Lol

lol so if i dont like yt i autoaticaly forget musical progression and blah blah blah..
First of all i could care less about this s--- since i listen to what i enjoy for myself and not to sound progessive to the others.. Second, Eminem isnt even on my rotation artists for the past 2 years at least but obv the best respond in here for people who like em is ''stanley''. best arguement ever

The part about Eminem and his nonsense on ShadyXV as well as his approach to rhythm and melody overtop of instrumentals :lmaooo:

If he's been in your rotation at any point since 8 Mile then Stan is a valid moniker.
    Thank you, I try.
