    Mainstream? None
    Underground? Kinda
Sub-genres of hip hop? a ton

Plus, 90% of this forum, SL and RB were introduced to hip hop because of Eminem.

Battle leagues like KOTD have Eminem's old style completely dominating it.

I don't go to shows but I still dress like it.

I am a 31 year old white English dude searching eBay for Rica wear and Phat farm.

I am in need of serious help.

I'd say to a large degree. he is by far the most popular rapper globally, even still.

He has certainly brought the genre a lot of new fansw who, without eminem making hip hop the most popular formats of music + reaching a global audience, would never have been fans.

I'd say he also brought aggression back to rap. because of Eminem signing 50 cent gangsta rap had a huge resurgence, whether that's good or bad is up for debate but that whole movement was heavily influenced by eminem.

Then you have all the white rappers that are now accepted in the game. whether yoy think he is good or not now, he certainly brought some credibility back to white emcees after vanilla ice.

To say he's had no influence is ignorant to the real history of hip hop on a global scale.

this is my 1st comment in this forum. I am from bangladesh. I dont know what's eminem's influence in USA in hip hop scene now a days but let me tell you popularity wise eminem is one of the most well known global artist in my country. in our country people generally like mostly rock music, metal music and classical music. but if people know one rapper, its eminem. Drake or kanye west or future these artists may be more popular in there now a days but out here nobody listen to them. just wanted to share my view. i hope nobody will get offended. thank you

Melodic hip hop ? The reason I don't like Future is because he sounds so terrible and most of his songs sound same to me. Probably because of the flow he uses all the time. There are few more rappers like him too. I can't really stand. Nothing can be more average than this s---. Biggie's songs are melody to my ears. Eminem's TES is melody to my ears. But if it wasn't for the beats nobody would listen to Future.

    • The need for Pop singers in introspective crossover tracks, to appeal to the masses.
    • Flows, come on now do I need to give examples? EMCEES in this decade are forever changed in how they flow since Em came out
    • Rhyme schemes, no explanation needed
    • Making the usage of alter egos viable for artistic expression, for both the sake of parody and to generate controversy of reflecting America’s own hypocritical ideologies

Incorrect. Future has a voice that is crunk and melodic at the same time; there are a lot of people who focus on his lyrics and his lyrics are as detailed and vivid as Eminem. You just think that because he has a mumble flow mean that he can't go hard... He does; every time.

Same goes for every other rapper; if it wasn't for the beats then anybody wouldn't listen to them. If it weren't for Dr. Dre beats then Eminem would be on Rawkus, if it weren't for RZA then no one would of heard of Ghostface Killah, see where I'm going with this... Your argument is weak.

I'd listen Biggie and TES era Eminem acapella tho. As for Future and those kinda rappers, I can't stand listenin' to them mostly. What argument ? I don't have any argument. I'm just sayin' I hate where the hip hop is rn. And all I'm sayin' is what I feel like. No need argue and try to beat as if it is a debate.
