but over all it's hard for me to write off even the songs i don't like.

because even when he's musically missing (imo obv) like on ville mentality and folding clothes, he's getting straight to the point and sticking religiously to the story/theme.

so it's a situation sort of like a movie where you don't mess with some scenes, but the movie still dope. idk how to feel tbh.

the only reason i can't say folding clothes is worse than songs like hello is because it has a purpose.

it gets worse if you're on your first spin, but it all clicks on your second spin so give it 2 chances.

    Much better not even close.

I would say FHD is Cole's classic album (excluding mixtapes).

yeah i get this, same way Hello concept could have been executed better (even though I personally always liked it). s--- isn't perfect for sure, but I'm really proud of the maturity Cole has shown on this album. In a weird way it's a throwback to his mixtape/unreleased storytelling but in a more progressive way.

'My story isn't the only one i'm tryna tell...'

To be fair, This and FHD are very different conceptually and sound wise.

    This album is unexpected.

I hate to compare, but this is like Cole's version of TPAB.

That's why I understand if some people don't like or hate this album.

Some people hated TPAB just because it was different and didn't sound like any of Kendrick's other stuff.

I mean, Cole and Kendrick have confirmed they've worked on songs so the album is coming at some point. One of them said they have it in the stash and they are going to drop it as a surprise.

Like others said, I don't see Cole going on tour with this new album, now is the perfect time to drop the collab with Kendrick.

It might settle in with you.

False Prophets and Everybody Dies was the same old Cole as we've heard since he broke out. Both those songs are forgettable, especially Everybody Dies. Both cookie cutter formulaic songs with some controversial bars for hype.

He took some risks on this album and I'm down with it.

Yeah. Although I love this album.

It's just most people thought it was going to sound a certain way. Like the 2 songs he released and the music sprinkled in the Doc during the sessions.

I know when I was listening to it last night, I knew some people would be disappointed.

This album doesn't have that "Cole feel" to it.

Yes, he took a risk, but nothing hit me (plenty of others too) directly like some of his other albums songs. Love Yourz is a prime example on FHD.
