Just listened to FHD and I couldn't recognize Cole. Dude sounded like a totally different person from this album

i thought FHD was short

similarly i was discounting hello and saying theres 14 minutes of the hour in the outro

but now i see if anything this proves to me how good FHD is, cause its concise but theres still a lot of different types of songs and pretty much everything that should be said is said

if cole don't drop something else in 2017 i think FHD might end up being his magnum opus

which is not a bad thing tbh

Never said it was tho. I learned long time ago not to expect a classic from Cole. Wanted to see the growth, progress and evolution. Got all 3 here.

FHD my favorite Cole project, but this s--- almost makes FHD sound like a Kidz Bop album. This is so mature and layered.

its been a while since i listened to FHD, like i literally haven't listened to any cole since maybe a couple months after "this february" ...

i just gave up and had enough of the bs thats why i haven't posted here lol

but i have to say without even listening again FHD's intro is just untoppable, i like this intro but its nowhere close to FHD intro

one of my favourite parts about this album tho is hearing the last verse on 4 your eyes only how he says the guy was having premonitions of his death and then u go back and listen to for whom the bell tolls again and it makes sense that him saying "i see the raaaain" is his premonition

I agree it would fit but I don't think this album has a gap. It just misses the mark in its purpose with certain songs.

1. Deja Vu is cool, but thats it. Maybe because Tiller already murdered that s--- (even though I really like False Prophets and Joeybad murdered Waves). Maybe its the hook. Like the Pac inflection, but its missing something. Should have just been improved cause the idea is fine
2. The bangers on this album are nice. Like Immortal is dope but it should b--- way harder. Beat wise I feel like the 808s should hit harder. Same with Neighbors but I also feel like the beat is a little bland even though I still like it.
3. The Jazz/Soul songs have all grown on me. His weird high pitched vocals and s--- all dope to me now.
4. 4YEO title track makes up for all the flaws on this album. Doesn't make it a perfect album or a 10 or anything like that but it wraps up the album so nicely that nothing feels excessive or misplaced. Easily the best written song of his career.
