Jan 21, 2017 Imo Eminem is the goat. Is his resume perfect? no. But he is the most complete rapper ever. His rapping ability is on par with the greats. His music appeals to the masses. He has the most success. An his sound has changed the most an refuses to stay in a box. The only knock on Eminem I think is his beat selection not being the best. My All time rappers 1. Eminem 2. Pharoahe monch 3. Nas 4. Jay z 5. Kendrick lamar( I don't even like him but at this point he's already surpassed so many others) 6. Biggie 7. Redman 8. Lupe fiasco 9. Ab soul( most versatile rapper probably since em) 10. Andre 3000 Yes it's time to remove pac, his rapping level isnt great an doesn't hold up. His music does an that's why he will go down as a top 5 hip hop artist but not rapper
Jan 22, 2017 Eminem is my favourite rapper. not sure I could say he's the absolute best though. I've always leaned towards Biggie as being the all time GOAT
Jan 22, 2017 what's B.I.G superior to Em on? just interested cuz I feel Em's GOAT is Biggie cuz he mentions him a lot
Jan 22, 2017 Biggie will always but up in the top tier, but it's unfair to have him as the undisputed #1 , simply because 2 albums isn't enough to rate as GOAT. If eminem died after the eminem show, similar words would be spoken of Em. They are both top 3 for sure.
Jan 22, 2017 don't get me wrong, I do think Eminem is one of the GOATS. I just feel Biggie's catalogue, while cut extremely short, was phenomenal. and rarely does an album come close to Ready to Die or Life After Death. His flow was just impeccable...s--- sounded so effortless. I just don't think we'll get another rapper like Biggie again. that's just my personal opinion though.
Jan 22, 2017 yes it's kind of unfair but we can't discredit him just because he died and his career was cut short. Fact of the matter is, we'll never know what would've been next for Biggie. but we do know he left behind 2 amazing albums, and I don't think we should sweep his status under the rug just because he died. sure, you could argue that people do the opposite and praise him more because he died, but that's not the way I look at it personally.
Jan 22, 2017 You're so sweet you deserve mutual love cuddles wine and chocolates! Goodnight sweet dreams xx
Jan 22, 2017 Ummmmm Ready to Die? Smh... Edit: Make no mistake though, Life After Death is classic. So many bangers. I still bump I Love The Dough whenever I'm driving or in a good mood. That's been my anthem for the last 20 years basically. I love that s--- so much.
Jan 22, 2017 You sir get a medal. This is the correct statement. When biggie was 17 or 18 years old (check out his freestyle in the street for proof), he sounded EXACTLY like he did when he died. Dude was a bonafide natural! If he were still alive, he would still be the best rapper, releasing both commercial hits and flexing technical rhymes. Ready to Die is a hip hop masterpiece. Then on his follow up double album (which has some monster tracks), dude decided to get Bone Thugs on a track, kick a double time verse, then proceeded to absolutely slaughter it with real rhymes instead of the s--- Bone was spitting (I like Bone, no shade) over 20 years ago, at a time when double time rhyming wasn't even a real popular thing yet. Everyone loves Notorious Thugs. It's timeless. I could go on and on. I feel he completely changed hip hop forever. Tupac brought real emotion and struggle and also impacted hip hop forever. I always put him 2nd to biggie though. Biggie could bring that emotion AND get real funky with the rhymes. He was so unorthodox but sounded so natural that those unorthodox rhymes sounded completely normal. Usually when you are unorthodox, you only appeal to specific fans. Biggie appealed to everyone, young, old, male, female, it didn't matter. I think he's the GOAT. Em is right up there with him though in my opinion. My top 5 is Biggie, Pac, Jay Z, Em, and 5th is either Big daddy kane or Rakim. I swap Em and Jay z all the time and for 5th, gun to my head, I'm picking Big Daddy Kane as 5th greatest of all time. s---, maybe Run DMC should be 5th. Awe f---, it's so hard to decide! Either way, I'm confident in my top 4. 5th for me is like roulette. Anyways, my point was ultimately going to be that maybe someday I might even put Em at number 1 GOAT status (unlikely, but he's still releasing music so it's theoretically possible). Edit: My top 5 isn't necessarily the order of my personal favorites. That's just my objective ranking of the top 5 greatest rappers in terms of overall impact on the culture, sales, technicality, confidence, appealing to women, how their peers respected them, etc.
Jan 22, 2017 Ok I agree biggie was excellent there's a lot wrong with this statement. For 1 you cannot say he would have stayed the best rapper till this day if he was alive. What if he got on crack or H and and did an Em with encore or literally just run out of material you cannot say what is round the corner. That being said he didn't even get the chance to peak
Jan 22, 2017 better rappers than biggie monch black thought andre 3k common lupe eminem doom jay nas i think i can name more
