Thought it was somewhat meh in the years following its release, but I've really grown to appreciate it in the last couple of years years. It's kind of a "journey though the mind of a psychopath" thing.

I think it's the definition of a very good album. Not classic an not average. If u take insane an bagpipes off replace them with music box an elevator it makes the album so much better but still not classic. From a technical perspective it's really creative, the beats are fantastic. My personal 3rd favorite em album. The problem is the content is not for everyone. The content is mostly heavy dark humor not witty like sslp or as poignant as mmlp, an no where near as cohesive an emotional as the Eminem show

It's good imo. It's obviously flawed, like some of the lyrics (and i'm not one to be turned off by Em's shock value) are just weird (Insane) it has the accent (that admittedly doesn't bother me anymore) and some weak songs. But on the other hand, it's flows, rhyme schemes and production are amazing and its good hook wise too tbh
If he took some of the refill songs and replaced them with the weaker songs it would've been a classic

I swear this is my favorite Em album, was just listening to Same Song and Dance and got lost in the lyrics, easily the most fun/least dated joint in his catalog. Not his artistic peak but given a choice I'm grabbing Relapse to listen to before MMLP.

Then he flip flopped on that on the Reunion on BME.

"Don't act like you don't like them accents, I rap tight"
