Aug 12, 2017 how can u even compare them.... as zane lowe said "tpab is a state of time, d---. is a state of mind" and that is so true tpab is such a defining album, and d--- will not reach that classification. that being said, d--- has a loooot more replayability and less lows. gkmc introduced us to kendrick but is very highly rated partly because of nostalgia. tpab>d--->gkmc
Aug 14, 2017 After ACTUALLY letting it marinate. d--- is honestly a mediocre album. Nowhere near GKMC. Lacks replay value which I consider highly important when rating albums. However, DNA is one of my favorite tracks of all time.
Aug 15, 2017 definitely has more replay value than TPAB, still gets regular spins from me (maybe bc I haven't taken the cd out of my car) when this thread was created I thought @Koolo was crazy for ranking god so high... then I listened to it a few times and now it is probably my 3rd most played song on the album... DON'T JUDGE ME ahaaaa
Aug 24, 2017 I don't have an answer to this but my first time listening to GKMC back in 2012 from start to end was a "magical experience". From the first track on I could sense something great that could change hip hop's landscape forever and no album till today has been able to beat that experience. So yeah; experience wise GKMC felt magical to me BUT I find myself listening to d---. way more! TPAB still my fav kenny album tho
Sep 26, 2017 PRIDE. is my favourite. It makes me feel a certain way, that song is powerful GKMC > TPAB > d---. > Section.80 IMO
Nov 30, 2017 GKMC was the album that i loved from the get go. d--- took a few listens. Overall I liked the majority of the album but I don't feel the need or want to listen to it again now. There are some really dope tracks on it but i don't find the want to listen to the songs. Unlike say GKMC and Section80 which i still went back to listen 6 months down the line.
Dec 1, 2017 d--- is great and deff the best album of the year imo. But TPAB is without a doubt the better album as far as I'm concerned.
Dec 1, 2017 d--- is probably the best Kendrick project. A classic. Just listened to it today once again and ain't no song that bores me or s---. All songs were classic. I decided to buy the album's physical copy but somehow there is no d--- in stocks for now. GOnna wait, it'll be renewed some day probably.
