1. If Kanye West did this exact same thing. Do you think there would be a similar, or even same, or even potentially more (given how outspoken he is in general) of a worldwide reaction? And really picture that. Picture Kanye screaming about Trump for 4 mins after being silent, in general, for so long... the world WOULDN'T react?

2. If G-Eazy did this. Do you think it would get the same reaction?

If you answer is Yes to 1 and No to 2... how the f--- does this have anything to do with race.

Kanye talking about Trump on stage or rambling about anything on stage made headlines just as big as this. Him rambling about the fashion industry makes worldwide headlines, so I think you're being really disingenuous if you say and believe Kanye making a 4 minute detailed cypher of him yelling about Trump wouldn't get a reaction like this.

It totally would. Not because black, white, anything, because he's Kanye fkn West. He's really famous. And he's also known for speaking out and being rebellious, that's why and that's why with Eminem, because he's REALLY famous and has a really huge reach.

Of course there's many Eminem fans who disregard other hip-hop etc. but why the f--- does that have to do with him being white? That argument was always r-----ed to me. Do you seriously believe KIDS, of all people, go "OOH IMA LISTEN TO HIM BECAUSE HE IS WHITE AND I AM WHITE!!" that's so f---ing r-----ed. If that was true - why isn't Asher Roth huge? Why is Macklemore selling 50k? Why isn't G-Eazy huge? WHY? Because they're not geniuses who have made groundbreaking music and they're not AMAZING and haven't created amazing material - THAT'S why.

So no, I completely reject the idea race helps or boosts Eminem. Nobody listens to f---ing music because somebody has the same colour skin as them, that's so f---ing r-----ed.

And, how is the G-Eazy argument irrelevant? it 100% proves my point. I keep hearing of X black rapper said this or did that and it wasn't worldwide news... black rappers on a similar level to G-Eazy. Know why they didn't get worldwide headlines? BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS PEOPLE ON THE PLANET! - Just like G-Eazy ain't, despite being somewhat known, a rapper and white... if he did this, almost nobody would be talking about it just like all the black rappers who made songs mentioned weren't.

That's a double sided argument, proving the point from both angles, I don't see how you not see that's true.

no, sorry. being white is 100% a part of it.

it's not the only thing, but it's there. there are other factors:
like the fact he doesn't say much so when he does people listen
the fact he's so famous
the fact that he told is own fans to f--- off as a political statement

BUT - specifically in the hip hop/urban culture, the fact that he's white and saying these things when he could just enjoy his privilege and stfu is worthy of attention. the fact that he's white and he advocated on behalf of POC, denouncing trump's coalition with racists and alienating all his racist fans, matters.

there are people that will listen to him, his words and his message because he's white. if anybody doesn't know that that's a thing that happens I don't think they should be speaking about race issues.

If Papoose died his hair yellow would it have made worldwide tabloid headlines like when Kanye did it?... NO. Why not?? Because nobody knows who the f--- he is.

Eminem is absurdly famous. Any absurdly famous rapper who did this, black or white, would have made gigantic headlines.

And any not-so-famous rapper, black or white, who has commented on Trump in the past... didn't... because they're not very famous.
