I don't care that these are completely different genres of music, which album is better?

    Kid A. Easily.

It's the best album of the 00's. There arguably hasn't been a better album released since.

Kid A might be the greatest album I have ever heard. I thought for a long time OK Computer was my favorite Radiohead album, then In Rainbows kind of took over, but Kid A is on another level. Takes me so many places in those 50 minutes..

    I vote Kid A

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Bon Iver, MBDTF, Carrie & Lowell, Sound of Silver, Is This It.. Maybe you could argue In Rainbows is up there..maybe. Maybe Arcade Fire's debut. Sigur Ros' second LP is fairly close.

There have been a lot of amazing albums in the last 15 years, but there's not too many that approach Kid A level.

Have you listened to Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven? This is probably the closest one for me, and it technically counts since it was released 6 days after Kid A. What a week that was though

I tried their debut a few years ago, and it didn't grab me enough to want to delve into the rest of their discog. Might have to give it a shot.

I wasn't impressed with their first either, when I had first listened to it, eventually it clicked and I really love it now (I think I prefer Antennas though, it's a very fascinating record). They're not an "easy" band to get into but the music is eventually very rewarding. I'd recommend to try out either antennas to heaven (and then get back to their debut, then the rest) or start with their most recent one that came out earlier this year ('asunder, sweet and other distress') which doesn't have that much going on and it's not that big of an "investment" at ~40'. Maybe you'll like them more this time :emoji_thumbsup:

Still though, "The Bends" is probably my fave album from them. It's the perfectly-woven cohesive masterpiece that a sophomoric effort should be. It's the golden standard of sophomore releases from any artist in any genre.
