Nov 27, 2017 I was shocked when I first heard it, it actually gave me hope that Eminem was back or close enough to being in his prime once again...unfortunately MMLP2 happened. Still rate Rap God highly
Nov 28, 2017 I loved it when it came out. I think Survival was already out though so my hopes had dropped for the album, Survival sounded so much like a Recovery left over at the time.
Nov 28, 2017 Loved it and still love it. I think easily a top 5 comeback track It's unique and one of the few songs to actually capture MMLP's spirit. Although, the very, very first reaction I had... it didn't hit me, like, right away. Just the sound and flow and s---, I remember being like 'okay, it's cool but not as crazy as everyone is saying', but then once I got into the sound of it... it majorly hit me. Crazy song. The video is amazing too. Also, a common critique and I think misconception of the song - by s-----y listeners - is that he 'says nothing' in it, or the perception it's just 'rappity rap', there's some of that in there yeah - but the actual content; being self-deprecating about his addictive behaviour, mocking the hypocrisy of censorship (see if I get away with it now), commenting on the purpose of music... he actually has more content in this song than half the ''introspective'' songs people love. A lot of people just need s--- spoonfed to them in a very literal format and if it's not that, they say it's just zany or rappity s---. And I find when he touches on serious content - in this format - he writes far more eloquently and interestingly, probably because he's got attitude and isn't focused on being fully sincere... The whole 'chicken scratch' part, the writing of it all and what he's saying >>> This and "So Far" >>>
Nov 28, 2017 First reaction was amazing, think he needs to drop another one right about now but with better content.
Nov 28, 2017 Wasn't a huge fan of the beat but I was pleasantly surprised with his delivery and flow. I thought it was amazing. It was a breath a fresh air since the previous couple years he was constantly yelling.
