Dec 8, 2017 2nd part is dope I really cannot stand his low toned rap voice he uses on every song nowadays, and the mixing is pretty bad If you listen really closely the beat has some cool sounds coming in and out but they didnt mix the track well enough to get the real effect of it Ems sound is still off a little but his writing is top notch and this is definitely a good sign for the album
Dec 8, 2017 f--- I knew EmBase would like this! It’s gonna take a while to digest it...but it’s real good
Dec 8, 2017 That 2nd beat is what he needs to stick too real talk. Sounded really good, put that rock s--- aside for now please. Overall, really well executed lyrically.
Dec 8, 2017 Listened again. So yeah first part is kinda corny, even though its on point. Sounds kinda messy (reminds me a little of Phenomenal), but the chorus is very catchy and is stuck in my head -for what its worth lol- Then the 2nd part... wow. THIS is the production I want him to rap over. f--- that rock s--- already. Love it. Again, lyrics are great. The line about rappers waving with guns and cops thinking they are all like that is nice. Also 'bad cops ruin it for good cops' line >. Perfectly executed and his voice or flow didn't bother me. But it bothers me more when he also raps about nothing... in the end the 2nd part does go on for too long tho, I was like yeah marshall you can stop now. I dunno this and WoW make me very curious about the album. Not expecting a masterpiece but it might be good! @M Solo @Papa Andy saw u posted in the official thread responding but not gonna go through all that bs. What do you think about this?
Dec 8, 2017 If it makes you interested in hearing the rest of the album, it's a good single, isn't it? I mean, that's the whole point of the single. Em must have been disappointed when Joyner Lucas released his I Am Not Racist video, as the concept are pretty much alike. Sonically, I completely dislike the hook and the first two verses. The third part is nice, though. I like that Em is going for the conscious rap album so far. It appears he wants to have his maybe last album a meaning and give himself a worthy farewell.
Dec 8, 2017 @All the people rightly saying f--- the rock elements in the beats: the x ambassadors feat is yet to come, unfortunately
Dec 8, 2017 It is good but as someone pointed out it was a bit scattered like phenomenal. I don’t get why Eminem does this. He has some good stuff but it needs some polishing. I don’t understand why he still uses choppy flows.
Dec 8, 2017 Well, that was bad lol. The intro was decent, the rock beat terrible, his delivery all over the place and the song way too long. The only redeemable quality was the beat switch. At least the song had a concept, but very predictable/poor execution. 4/10
Dec 8, 2017 he could have approached the topic with a bit more tact but I'm really liking the sound of it.
Dec 8, 2017 I can't believe some comments here. It's Eminem at his finest. When I heard the song for the first time, I thought I knew why it's called Revival. It's like listening to 2002-2003 Eminem who just slightly evolved. Like Encore, Relapse, Recovery, MMLP2 never happened between. The song is serious but not too dark. I think it really is going to be a kind of 2017 version of The Eminem Show. All we ever wanted I guess.
Dec 8, 2017 rubin didn't do anything on this song. it was produced by Mark Batson, Emile, Eminem, and Mr. Porter
