Dec 8, 2017 @Papa Andy thank you for posting. That was a great read. I agree with almost everything you said.
Dec 8, 2017 Also @Papa Andy very on point about how they feel like they need to be toyed around with more...there's something there, but it feels like he quit after a first draft. They feel like ideas that are still on the drawing board...they don't feel finished and fine-tuned the way a Capital A Art Kanye or Jay single does.
Dec 9, 2017 incredible write up man and you hit the nail on the head about the intro, the "lions, tigers, and bears, oh my" bits, etc... i don't think eminem even realizes it (hopefully he doesn't b/c he'd run it into the ground), but much of his brilliance as an artist were really in the details of his songs. there were little parts that you looked forward to in a verse/chorus/bridge where he'd switch up the flow/layer his vocals differently/have an alternate chorus underneath the original (he does this on stimulate, lose yourself, etc) and it'd keep you intrigued throughout the whole record. obviously his execution still can't match his prime, but i think a lot of what makes eminem, eminem is on this song. anyways great post and i look forward to reading your thoughts on the album...maybe more than listening to the album itself lol
Dec 9, 2017 Great post and agreed. Thanks for reading and digging Wow hadn’t thought about that Edit: side note this has grown on me a lot since writing this id say. It’s not nearly as cringey as the hhh snobs say. Fits well in his body of work, just a lil more PC (which is what we want right)
