f--- I so wanted this to be decent... some of this is the worst Eminem I've ever heard though. There are a handful of good songs but even they sound like they were recorded years ago

I don't hate it and I don't love it. I wasn't hyping myself up for it like some of you. So it's okayish. I got a few new songs to listen to and I was expecting it to be like this: few gems and the rest is meh/trash.

Let’s be honest, listening to Castle and Arose together makes me realize it’s as genius as Stan. The combination of those two is clearly the best song Em has made since TES. I know a lot of people hate on the album, but let’s face it. The culture of hip hop has changed, so it’s impossible for him to put the same anger in music like his early career. Not only has hip hop changed, so has Eminem and his lifestyle. People keep wanting to hear the same, but don’t realize that if he pushes himself to rap about something that isn’t from the heart, it’s going to sound like s---. This album is mostly from the heart, and it’s a f---ing classic for that. Em is 45 years old, he can’t keep rapping about the same s--- as 15+ years ago, because his life looks alot different, and the sooner everybody realizes that, the sooner you can enjoy his music for what it really is.

i think just castle. Arose is written in a really horrible disjointed 2017 flow way. i think he had the parts of castle, and thought it would be cool to rewind back into the alternate ending of the castle section. which explains the dated material but s-----y performance.
