Dec 14, 2017 Honestly, the only songs I skip are Like Home, Nowhere Fast and Need Me. If anybody feels differently about these tracks, convince me otherwise...
Dec 14, 2017 Yes. This is Em's 808 and Heartbreaks or Yeezus. Trash/Average at first listen but grows like a mothafucka. Will be received badly, but will be a cult classic later on. But this needs to get thrashed by at least 1 guy who Em considers close to him. So that he returns to proper Hip hop beats n s--- and drops a classic before leaving. And he shouldn't give a s--- about nobody while making that album. Highs of this album are really high and it shows Em hasn't lost a step, he just tries too hard to please his wide a--- fanbase with 1000+ demands instead of creating one pure Hip hop album that will please the culture itself.
Dec 14, 2017 Eminem knew how different this album was and that’s why we got the singles that we did. That’s why we didn’t get any videos. He new peoples first reaction might not be good. So he Lowkey put it out.
Dec 14, 2017 Haha no but he gets that a lot though, hes supposed to be a Jack Russel / Norfolk terrier but who knows really.
Dec 14, 2017 After giving it a couple listen its growing on me but this album is still not one of my favorite, there's so many good songs just like they are bad songs it's a 50/50 for me But its wayyy better than mmlp2 on production, lyrics and content and btw Bad Husband is being slept on hard on the internet so far x ambassador killed this hook and eminem verse's are powerful
Dec 14, 2017 Great review Koolo. I felt like you at first, i found this album to be jarring sonically, However Marshalls performance, minus some bits (such as the terrible opening flow of Believe) has been f---ing stellar in my eyes. He made great music even out of some garbage simply by his performance. h--- on the pink track, which sucks, his singing was f---ing better than pinks! The rick rubin tracks took the longest to digest with me, but Heat had to be the best hes been, musically, since 2004. I dont like classic rock, but rubin was magic on this, and Em was in complete sync. He had complete control of a song for the first time in whats felt like 8 years. I bumped that s--- in the whip this morning and just heard every minor detail and was stunned. Maybe it took some time to get chemistry but theyve finally got it. Im not sure how this album will age. The opening to like home for example made me want to f---ing vomit, but by the end of the song i was so g.d. into it. In a way many of the songs on this album start off jarring and rough, but by the end i get so into them. Marshall showed the f--- out on this s---, he blew his flow and entendres and messages on recovery and mmlp2 out of the water. This is far more fun to listen to than either of his previous 2 albums. Cringe lines from Em were at a minimum, while his wit was at heights i havent seen since 2009. Hes by far at his best in years, and his weaknesses to me are simply production choice. He needs more control over the production and the stop and go flow, but this is the biggest leap in the right direction ive ever seen him take. Just my take
Dec 14, 2017 True. Not exactly his best when he has like 4-5 bad songs on album. But his biggest artistic leap since 2009, or maybe his career. He had the balls to combine so many different, unique sounds and create this album that was gonna divide the fanbase like mothafucka.
Dec 14, 2017 Hearing Castle and Arose for the first time completely blew Bad Guy first listen out of the water. Plus i'd read people hyping it up on here and it still completely blew me away
Dec 14, 2017 In Arose, that switch to Second part and adding a few more bars there is one of the most genius things Em has done in recent years. This album keeps growing. Have listened it like 7 times.
Dec 14, 2017 @Koolo did you really listen to this album 30 times? If so, why? Why do you guys think rap music is so deep and complicated? It’s not, and it doesn’t need to be analyzed and studied like it’s rocket science
