Dec 15, 2017 Think about it for a second, the promotion for this album was weird as h---, like Em didnt want to perform new material at all.. In reality he performed WoW 2 times and then performed songs from MMLP2 & Revovery. Also his manager and friend becomes the new ceo of Def Jam in 2018, why should he stay at interscope a label that maybe is limiting his releases (I need mixtapes,EPs and collabo albums.). Maybe even forcing him to put artists on tracks just to sell more (could be his own decision too idk) It could be just me but i treally think ems time at interscope is over. Thoughts? And what would you think about it ?
Dec 15, 2017 Would be interesting to see him without inter scope requirements.. he’s not working with Dre anyway for years now so this won’t harm us more lol
Dec 15, 2017 Yep, he's retiring and leaving interscope to become something he allways wanted to be A d--- dealer
Dec 15, 2017 i know def jam is also under universal. But still I think there would be big changes. Both in terms of control and creative freedom.
Dec 15, 2017 Doubt it with how big he is. Doubt he would even put out an album without pop stars now after Relapse. People knock him for the pop stuff and beats but ignore the fact he stays true to hip hop with his lyricism. Others don't do that when they go pop.
Dec 15, 2017 And everyone affiliated in any way with Def Jam has great producers, No I.D, Yeezy, Travis Scott and Southside. This line up of Producers and even Rubin (He can be good if he gets his s--- together and producers the way he produced for Jay and Kanye) can help infuse a new life in his sound.
Dec 15, 2017 You nailed it. Even tho Em uses pop Stars, beats etc, he's always paying tribute to hip hop culture, it's dopest MCs wherever possible. And a lot of artists dumb their bars down, like Kanye. You can use some pop beats and features and still be Hip Hop just because of your bars and respect for the culture. But I don't want any pop stuff from Em now. It's getting boring, was fun at first tho. Em needs to get either a modern day trap sound or he should go full fledge hip hop with his next album.
