Dec 15, 2017 I think it's a cop out to say the album sounds all over the place and is inconsistent "on purpose". Still even if that is what he was going for (which we have no idea unless he says it was); Like u said the choppy flow sucks and takes a lot of enjoyment out of it, also his voice sounds like s--- most of the album. I also can't see how u can enjoy the rubin/porter/alex da kid beats througout this, they sound awful. And like u said, this album has 3 or 4 of the worst songs he's ever put out period which drag it down a lot. The album has grown on me a bit since first listen but for the above reasons I can't see it ever getting above a 6/10 for me. Mmlp2 was a much easier and more enjoyable listen
Dec 15, 2017 Take this pole(poll) like a survey Boy sure why people are hating on offended. There are some unbelievable lines on this. People might hate the flow and prod but everyone should agree that the wordplay is god tier.
Dec 15, 2017 Why do you hate “need me”? Is it because it’s more of a Pink song featuring Eminem? Because is actually a well executed track.
Dec 15, 2017 Why would he include this stupid song? The excessive Pink factor makes it awkward? Like there was no need to include it?
Dec 15, 2017 I cant help but feel is he got rid of need me . Framed , nowhere fast &heat . But then flipped the track list like a story which he always did on his albums because there’s just no structure . Paul has ruined the post hiatus Eminem and manufactured him into his personal toy . He needs Dre back like relapse with perfect beats to give em the freedom to do what he does best . I wish the track list when like 1. Castle 2.arose 3.bad husband 4.believe 5.remind me 6.tragic endings 7.like home 8. Unstoppable 9.river 10. In your head 11.w.ow To me the track list like this tells a story from 2007 -onwards to how the new em is today Please begin abuse
Dec 15, 2017 It’s because she wrote the song and wanted him on it. It should have been on her album, but it’s a very well executed song.
Dec 15, 2017 Right, so I had a long drive today (6 hours) and created the following Revival playlist: 1. Walk on Water 2. Believe 3. River 4. Revival (Interlude) 5. Like Home 6. Bad Husband 7. Tragic Endings 8. Framed 9. Nowhere Fast 10. In Your Head 11. Castle 12. Arose Having played through those 12 tracks about 4 times (on a good car sound system), I've gotta say, it's grown on me a lot. Koolo was right. Without the trash, this album is up there with Recovery (I'm a Recovery fan). It has substance. He's honest and open on this album. This album is miles better than MMLP2 and, as enjoyable music goes, it's great. Castle/Arose together (Arose in particular) is a top 20 Em track. It's so deep. He still suffers from poor delivery/choppy flow at times, average beat selection and too many Skylar written hooks but as a pop album from post hiatus Em, it is enjoyable and an improvement over MMLP2 and ShadyXV. I'd put this above Relapse as say it's his 5th best album.
Dec 15, 2017 It just seems silly to me to take several serious (correct) political stances and then have a song about murdering women on the same album I wasn’t expecting to like so many so I’m pleasantly surprised
Dec 15, 2017 I like Pink in a casual way, and I wasn’t exactly looking for half of the song to be just her, but I don’t think it’s a bad track at all. Kind of odd on his album but the actual song is good. Probably the best song they’ve done together out of he 4-5 they have (can’t remember how many). On the album as a whole, I agree with Koolo. I really don’t like just a few tracks on here, with the rest having I’m enjoying quite a bit. I don’t like: Chloraseptic, Remind Me and Framed (which really is just the hook I hate but it ruins it so much). I like: Walk on Water, Untouchable, River, Tragic Endings, Heat, Offended (hook isn’t great but it’s bearable to me unlike Framed), Need Me and In Your Head I love: Believe, Like Home, Bad Husband, Nowhere Fast, Castle and Arose. Really great album for me personally. Hope this isn’t his last and he continues.
Dec 15, 2017 Framed is a definite classic and i usually hate tracks like that. Also people talking about leaving Arose and Castle off your final version...WHAT THE f---. Arose is a 12/10
Dec 15, 2017 I will eat my words. Castle into arose is the best thing I've heard Eminem do since 2005
Dec 15, 2017 Man Offended is good -and my initial reaction to the album is bad-, even the beat is fresh, i love when the bass drops. First two verses are the usual lyrical miracle but done good and he ripped the 3rd verse, he is even saying something with some meaning going at supersonic speed at the end of the song
Dec 15, 2017 A cross over album that grows on you. 1. The Eminem Show 2. The Marshall Mathers LP 3. The Slim Shady LP 4. Relapse 5. Revival 6. Recovery 7. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 8. Encore
