I know right. If you don’t like the production, if you think it’s to poppy, or you don’t like the songs, Em is bringing it on this album with the bars/verses.

There are some lines that are a bit mehh for a rapper of his calibre and age but his pen-game is on point as f---. These songs are crafted really well. MMLP2 had a couple of songs like these, but on this album its from a-to-z on point. Even though i dislike a couple of beats (Like Home), the lyrics are there.

Exactly how I feel. And when I first heard Offended, I hated the hook, so I dismissed it. Thank God I went back and focused on his MCing and the beat. Those bars are>>>>

A lot of it is the flow and delivery that throws it all off sonically. He doesn't flow on the beat and has this annoying whiny/nerdy sounding voice. He almost delivers the lyrics in spoken word with no respect for the beat and rhythm of it at all. Then the beats are just bland. Which just leaves a really difficult album to listen to.

We listen to the lyrics trust us, there are a lot of terrible bars in the songs, you may not agree cause maybe it’s all “new music” to you & you are excited about the album, but most of the bars sound like something a beginner would make up.

First line isn't that bad but yeah you're right, this album is absolutely filled with dumb s--- embarassing punchlines. Marshall is awful at them and it's been his problem since 2010. Just awful

Yup beat selection is really bad.

He's also lost his ability to create catchy melodies which always helped make his earlier work so sonically pleasing. Poor beats and no melodies are hurting his newest music. I still find a few songs I like on his new albums but the majority of it is a pass for me.

Edit: What's kind of annoying though, I don't completely disagree with the others. He does have some creative lyrics but they do get lost in too many corny punchlines. If the corn is at a minimum, I can ignore it if the rest is dope but often times, even when this happens, the beat is a mess or it just doesn't sound sonically pleasing, killing any real replay value for me.

They are bad puns on purpose (but yeah, toilet humour from a man his age can definitely be toned down) and he has always had them. Im not going to zoom in on a single bar though..

I mean, half of y'all were dissapointed 2Chainz didnt make the album.. "what goes around comes around like a hoola hoop".

A lot of the songs are great, but his lyricism is a step down in terms of lines and wordplay from 2012-2015. Which was surprising.

    Also it's another MMLP2.

I know I initially gave the album an 8, I'm not sure what I currently give it, I'm still living with it. But the pop tracks are a f---ing drag and so many wasted track slots and pandering, and just f---ing up the flow and vibe of the album again.

I think this'll probably end up a 6.5-7 to me.

He always had them yes, but they were more clever & witty back then, now there isn’t any humor in them, they are just down right awkward. (As what makes it more awkward is for a man his age, even though he says he is still the same guy, it just doesn’t work anymore).

Also f--- 2Chainz, I’m glad he didn’t make the album, couldn’t care less if a verse from him on Chloreseptic would’ve helped that track propel that song any better or not, he can die for all I care.
